I was finally able to go get some fabric for the back of my table runner and get it finished. I can definitely see flaws all over the place and know that I still have a lot to learn. but overall I am proud of what I was able to create.

James was recently able to get some insurance for myself and the kids, including dental. I have been meaning to make an appointment for them but it kept slipping my mind. Then Kilian actually reminded me one day and asked when he was going to the dentist. I seized the moment and called them to make an appointment. Kilian and Avery both haven't been to the dentist in years. So Avery and I made a bet as to how many cavities that she was going to have I said 3-5 she said probably 10. Survey says.... ZERO!!!!! Seriously I could not believe it. With how much junk they eat and i know they don't brush their teeth very well despite my constant reminders. I was shocked but very happy. While we were there Avery got sealants on her teeth and I was able to make an appointment for Kilian in 6 months to get his. The dentist said that his baby teeth should mostly be gone by then. I know this is a weird thing to say but what a great day at the dentist.
Nikki was down this weekend with Gavin, Parker and Andrew for a clogging competition. Its always so much fun to go see them dance and to spend time with the Wardell's. While we were there we sat with a group from the studio that the Wardell boys attend including Gavin's dance partner for the duo's. McKayla apparently stole my little boys heart. He sat right by her while she wasn't dancing and had a big smile on his face while watching her dance. He even wrote her this cute little note and slipped it into her bag. It was so cute!!! Oh my heart! My little boys first crush.
Avery has always been very iffy when it comes to haircuts. But she told me she wanted a hair cut and she knew what she wanted. So I made the appointment and away we went. What she had planned was a big change and she was nervous. But She looks GREAT! I think the stylist said the took about a foot of hair off. That's CRAZY! Avery loves her new hairstyle and honestly I am happy that it'll be a lot more manageable for her.
Haircut time! Kilian told the stylist that he wanted it spikey like a shark fin. He was very pleased with his new hair style and said he definitely felt like a shark.
Avery got a chance to go to the Red Cliffs Temple open house again. This time with her young woman's group. She was scared but said after that she had a lot of fun.
There is a hiking trail over by Kilians school that I have been wanting to go/go back to. We hiked the west side of the trail on Christmas Eve last year. But since then I wanted to see where the trail that heads East ends up. So this morning I had to take Kilian in to school because he missed the bus. I figured since I was awake already and "here" might as well check it out. It was a beautiful hike and a beautiful day for it. Dixie had a lot of fun and met some friends along the way. (Other hikers) Turns out the trail to the East goes up a different cinder cone which was a very steep climb. I made it as far as I could before I decided to turn around and go back down. When we got back to the fork in the two trails instead of heading back to the car we went down the west trail for a little bit. Its a fairly flat hike for awhile (till it gets to the cinder cones) and it gave Dixie a chance to get some zoomies out. It was so funny, she would start digging in a spot and then it seemed like she would get so excited she couldn't contain herself and she would race forward as fast as she could and then race back to me. She did this over and over for awhile till she really got tired. We got back to the car and both of us got a much needed drink of water before heading back home.
After being home I should really have spent the day cleaning or doing any spare laundry. But I sat down at the sewing machine just to see if I could get it up and going. I spent the entire day sewing and working on this Halloween table runner. I got the top finished and it was so fun and relaxing just taking this time out and getting it done.
We took a bit of a detour home an stopped by Sedona and took that route up to Flagstaff. It was so beautiful. We stopped in town to stretch our legs a bit and then again at the overlook. It was a nice breather from the drive and such a pretty view. But it was so nice to finally get home.
Gordy and Kim invited all of us to come over to their house for another family dinner. I haven't ever been to their house so it was fun to see and spend another night with them.
