Christmas Eve

I had to work in the morning and make sure all the animals were fed, watered and their kennels cleaned so we got a little later start to our Christmas Eve festivities than usual. But it all seemed to work out ok. After I got home from work we made up a couple cookie plates with one of the cards I made. On our way to confluence park for our Christmas Eve hike we stopped by my aunt Norma's to give her a plate of cookies and card and visit with her for awhile.

After we headed to confluence park for our hike. The old house/shed whatever it was had been painted since the last time we were there and all the graffiti was gone. We rested here for a bit for James' back which Kilian loved because he found a cute little window to play "restaurant" while we rested.

We continued till we got to the bridge and the picnic area that has the rope swings. The whole reason the kids wanted to come here. The kids played on the swings while James and I explored the area, sat, and talked with his family on messenger video. Aver did end up swinging wrong on one of the swings and hurt her wrist. poor thing.

After awhile we headed back to the car taking fun and beautiful pictures along the way. Before we headed home we stopped by Glenn's house to visit his Norma and give her a plate of cookies and Christmas card. Some of her kids were there as well as her new boyfriend. I have to say it was super weird being in my uncle Glenn's house but it didn't feel or look like his house anymore. It is definitely something I am struggling with. Avery made kind of the same observation. Crazy!

Back home we had some dinner and the kids started getting really tired which turned into really wild and then ornery and fighting. We opened up Christmas jammies and usually we'd go look at Christmas lights to wear out the kids a little more. But they were already really tired and acting out and saying they wanted to go to sleep. So we sadly nixed our Christmas eve light sightseeing tour and just told the kids to go to bed. I got Christmas breakfast made and put in the fridge to sit overnight and James and I watched A Christmas Story to try and wind down. The kids must have been super tired because they fell asleep really quick, which was nice for us.

Alright Santa we're ready for you!!! :)
