Sunny Summertime Fun

This last weekend was so much fun. It was very hard coming back to work after such a wonderful weekend. Friday I was able to come home early from work. As soon as I got home I got changed and James and I went over to his sisters house for dinner and to get the kids ready for a fun night out. I think this is the first night that Nikki has had away from the twins since they've been born. I think she was excited but nervous to be away at the same time. After dinner we piled the 3 boys in our car (Abby was away at a girls night with her cousin and 2 aunts) and headed down to Friendship park. On the way the boys found a video and decided to take a look. It was pretty funny.
We met up with Dad and Nikki at the park and let the fun begin. South Ogden days always consists of fun. It's the kick off to summer for James and I. The concert was in full swing on one end and different dance and singing shows on the other and in between were booths of yummy smelling food, business's, kids games and more, and of course who could forget the carnival and car show. there was a kids section full of crafts and game that Nikki took the boys to while dad, James and I walked around the car show. Oh and the car show had a lot of nice cars. Everything from Old school Ford model-T's1950's-1960's Chevy's

I found it kinda funny. :) After we were done we went and found Nikki and the boys. They wanted to go on some of the carnival rides. They were kinda expensive. but we found a fun $1 one bouncy slide. the boys had a blast, they got to go down the slide quite a few times.
We also found some more games the kids could play for free. the kids were excited as they kept getting candy and toys from all these nice people. James found the Weber State University tent and James, Nate and Gavin all got to play Rockband for a free Weber bandanna. It was fun to watch them. Nate and James were so excited for their bandanna. It started to get late and we decided to get back to Nikki's house and help mom with the twins. Since Abby was going to be gone all weekend, we thought we could help Nikki have some "quiet" time. So we took Gavin and Nate over to our house for a sleepover.Saturday started off nice, we were all pretty tired so we skipped the parade for a little more R&R...well at least for James and I. The boys were up early and ready to play. they played video games all morning, we didn't have any milk for cereal so I though it would be fun to go to the store and get some fixings for crepes. After I got home and got to baking it wasn't long before we had delicious chocolate strawberry and caramel banana crepes, with whip cream of course. James and I were very excited about the crepes but the boys felt like theirs need a little something and asked for the maple syrup. Yuck! They loved them though. After that it was more video games, running around the front yard with Toto and Rosko and playing in a kiddie pool on the back porch; till James needed to get to school. So we got all the boys stuff and headed north. We dropped James off at Weber and then did a little unsuccessful garage sale hunting. Which was just that not a success. :p Nikki and Justin weren't home so we went to grab a pizza and balloons at Little Caesars for lunch. Nikki and Justin were home to share in the pizza goodness before I headed back to pick up James. then I got "the call" that I was waiting for from my friend Jamie and headed over to her house so her and I could go to Mountain Green for some Horseback riding fun! Oh and it was FUN!After I got back from riding, James and I went back to the carnival and to watch the Flying Ninjas. These guys were so cool. They are a stunt group and they were really good. They would launch each other off this platform and do flips and twists. I wish my pictures turned out better so I could show you. My video isn't loading either for some reason. After awhile the heat from the whole day was starting to get to me. So we headed back home to have some dinner and watched the fireworks from our house. It was a great weekend. :)

Sunday Thoughts

My Sunday thought this week is going to be very brief. I had the chance to go help out some family yesterday and didn't get to church. But some of the students at LDS Business College put together a new blog that I think is really neat and inspirational. It's a blog that was developed into a place where people can read and share experiences that they have had with trials and getting through. Check it out. :)

LETTERS TO GOD

Sick,Sick,Sick

Ok not really the kinda sick that probably came to mind. But last week and so far everyday this week I have been getting HORRIBLE headaches and stomach aches. Everyday when I ride home on the bus I get really carsick and pray that I'll make it home before anything happens. I have to try and lay back as far as I can and will myself to sleep. I have tried Ibuprofen, Advil, Excedrin, Excedrin Migraine. That one worked, but I think it's only cause I fell asleep a little after taking it.
It starts at fairly similar times each day and by the time I get home it escalates to a migraine. My whole week last week was shot cause almost everyday when I came home I would just go to sleep, but when I woke up I would still have a slight ache. So I would usually eat something, try and watch a show with James and end up falling back to sleep. So far this week I haven't slept when I got home because I had so many things I needed to get done. Last night I spent at my in laws house watching TV with a cold wash cloth on my head while James did his homework... something I should have been doing. Today once again it started off as a dull ache and now it's in full swing. This is going to be another Wonderful 3 hour class I have to sit through. :( Today lets see...I think I'll try...Motrin IB yeah lets see if that works. Any suggestions?

I don't consider myself a full daddy's girl, but I loved doing stuff with my dad. There was certain things that just seemed ours. Like fishing. Fishing was something that no only he and I had in common it seemed. We were able to go out together and spend hours on the lake. I would also like to note that Dad has yet to beat my record for biggest rainbow trout caught. :) just saying. My father in law has also taught me so much in the (almost) 5 years I have known him. I love listening to his stories, especially the ones from his childhood. I love the talks we can have and the chance I have just to talk, whether I am upset or in a good mood. I always feel comfortable to open up and talk with him.

Sunday Thoughts

I am bringing back Sunday thoughts to my blog. For many reasons. :) Hope you enjoy.

Yesterday as I was sitting in Sunday school it was a pretty normal day at church. the teacher started the lesson. He talked about the life of Christ and how he taught with parables. We talked about the 10 virgins. Then he moved on to the parable after the 10 virgins. The parable of the talents. This is the part of his lesson I would like to focus on. This has been a difficult parable for me over the years, for a few reasons. One is I never felt like I understood it completely and the other is every time I heard this parable I always felt like I never had enough talents to share, so I always felt like the foolish and slothful servant. So as he started into this portion of lesson I felt the familiar "panic" (if you can call it that) rise at not being a good servant with my talents. First we read through the parable( which you can read in Matthew 25: 14-30.) then we started in to the normal break down of what things mean. The one thing that really struck me in his lesson is when he was talking about a talk that a member of the seventy gave awhile back on the talents that were talked about in this parable. (I wish I could find this talk it was so good.) He talked about the talents don't always mean talents such as playing a musical instrument, singing, art, sports, etc. He talked about how talents can be of a spiritual nature such as the ability to listen and hear, kindness, a gentle heart, the ability to forgive easy and forget, caring for others, serving, spreading the gospel, etc. All of these things that I know I can do and I feel like some I do fairly well at. He then tied it back in saying that when we go some of these things to increase these talents we are also filling our lamps with oil. as talked about in the parable of the 10 virgins. His lesson really helped open my eyes and helped me to see that just because I am not particularly musically inclined that doesn't mean I don't have valuable talents that I can use to benefit others. I am thankful for a loving Heavenly Father that shows us our true worth when we doubt it ourselves. I am thankful for his perfect love that he willing shows and gives to all of us. I know that he lives and loves us all individually. This is my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Slow Day

15 useless facts about me

My niece did this on her blog, and since it's been a pretty slow day I thought this would be fun.

1) Dream job?

Owning my own animal rescue to help save the thousands of animals that get euthanized each year, also teaching riding lessons from my home. Pretty much anything working with animals, especially horses.

2) Favorite Drink?

Chocolate milk I love love LOVE chocolate milk.

3) Most important beauty secret?

I'm not too good on the beauty part. but I did learn something from a friend. After you get out of the shower if you put a small amount of mousse in your hair then curl it the next day. You can have perfectly soft curls.

4) If you had an all expenses paid vacation...where would you go?
An art tour with my husband. James and I took a Survey of Art History class that we just loved. Our teacher said that he gave special art tours across Europe to a certain number of students. Ever since we took his class we would love to go on that tour.

5) If you had three wishes, what would they be?

-I wish my husband and I both would get our dream jobs
-To have the house,land and horses I want and they're all debt free.
-To be able to start our family

6) If you could have one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Berries. Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, marionberries. You name it I love it. in fact I haven't tried a berry that I haven't liked. And they are so expensive, so I don't get to eat a lot of them.

7) What is one talent you wish you had?
Just one. oh goodness...uh probably to be musically inclined. Either to be able to sing well or play an instrument. A few I have always wanted to play are the Violin, Guitar, Drums, flute and piano. I guess that's not a few. :p

8) Biggest celebrity crushes...
Elijah Wood

James still teases me about my crush on Elijah Wood.

When I was younger I had a crush on Benny from Sandlot, pretty much just like every other girl. :p

9) If you could look into the future, would you?

I think I would be tempted to, but I really don't think I would. If I knew something bad was in the future due to something that happens now or later I think I would make it a point to not do that thing so the bad thing doesn't happen. I don't know if this makes sense. But this is like asking if you could change 1 event in your life what would it be. Without the events in my life I wouldn't be where I am today.

10) What made you start a blog?

I heard my sister in law talk about hers as well as some friends and I thought it would be a good way to keep track of my life (like a journal) as well as keep family and friends updated.

11) What was the happiest day of your life?

I don't think you can have just one happy day. I had a lot of happy days on my mission. :) But since then, My wedding day would have to be #1. Granted I didn't get the wedding I wanted with the exception of a few things. But being in the temple with James being sealed for time and all eternity. There's no better feeling then knowing that you are going to be with your husband and kids Forever.

I have a few. But I will give you 2. :) Sense and sensibility (the one with Kate Winslet and Emma Thonpson) and Pride and Prejudice (The A&E version with Colin Firth)

14) What's your worst habit?

Not exercising! I would love to run in a 5k and maybe even a marathon one day. Or better yet I would LOVE to get back into dance. I LoVe to dance but because of my weight I don't join any studios. If I would get my butt out there and just do something, not only would I lose the weight and feel more confident but I would be doing these things I love.

15) What Golden Girl would you be?
I think I would be Rose. Not outspoken until I have to be and generally shy.

First Day of school

Yup today is the start to Summer Semester. I know what you're saying though, you thought I was going to take the summer off and enjoy...well...So did I. :) James talked me into taking some classes. But I can definitely see his point. He is going to be graduating in April so that only gives us 2 semesters to be able to enjoy taking classes together. Unless we take Summer semester then we can have 3. So here we are; today is the first day of school. Backpack is once again here and full, pencils are sharpened, lunch and dinner is packed, and our wallets are empty. I did decide to take some of the elective classes so it'll be a light semester...hopefully. Today starts Astronomy with James and tomorrow I have Cultural Anthropology.The funny thing is, I only have classes on Wed and Thurs. I thought my music class was Tues and Thurs, but saw other wise when I printed out my schedule. Two days, I can handle that right? Well here we go, wish us luck. :)
