Easter Weekend

Happy Week After Easter Everyone! :) We hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. We had a fun Easter. Friday night after some at home projects we went out to Mom and Dad Armstrong's house to make cupcakes and Fudge eggs (James and I were on dessert duty for dinner). It was a lot of fun to spend time with Mom, Dad, and Lisa. We watched the Wizard of Oz while we worked. Sunday was a beautiful and sunny day, which we were excited for. James and I had a visit from the Easter bunny. :) Who left us overflowing baskets of chocolate and other goodies as well as fun and colorful eggs hidden all over our living room. It was fun watching James find all the eggs. We went out early so I could finish decorating the cupcakes. After I was done everyone had arrived. James and Bob hid the eggs and the kids were set lose on a wild and fun search. Ethan was fun to watch cause he would get so excited when he found one. The kids were excited to empty all their eggs to find the yummy prizes inside. Gavin would even hit the side of his egg on his basket before cracking it open. :) After the egg hunt we all had a wonderfully delicious dinner and dessert. Everyone loved the dessert. It was nice to have a relaxing holiday and to ponder on the Saviors sacrifice and Resurrection so that we may return to live with him.

James and I were watching the Braves/Giants game on Saturday and we saw this funny video. The commentator didn't show us the whole thing. So when we went to Mom and Dad's (Armstrong) later that night, we watched the whole thing. It's so funny we were laughing so hard. Anyway Enjoy!

Spring Has Sprung, The Grass Has Risen...

Do you remember this saying? I use to use it quite frequently in middle school and I think in high school a bit to. After school I kinda just forgot about it, till this last Semester. But I am happy to say that finals are behind me, I think I did really well in all my classes, and I have taken the summer off. So I am super excited. James has transferred from LDSBC to Weber. He is taking a couple classes this summer and he starts May 2. We are still very happy to be going to school, but I am excited for the break. I tried to convince James to take a break but he said that he feels that if he takes a break that he will lose steam and wont go back. Personally I think other wise but he knows himself better. So onto a fun filled Summer and hopefully stress free (or at least little stress) semester for James. Now the big question...can a BC Lion and a Weber Wildcat live in the same house? Guess we'll see. :p

Calling all, calling all

Okay so I know I have been asking a lot lately and I don't expect you to constantly do all these things, I just like getting the word out and trying to do my part to help. May 7 the Susan G. Komen of Salt Lake is hosting a race for the sure. It is a 5k run/walk, anyone can participate. It is $35 and includes fun goodies, fun times and an experience you'll never forget. I am putting together a team and would like to hear from you if you are interested. The registration forms need to be post marked by April 22. So this is what I need from you... If you are interested and want to run/walk (probably mostly walking) with us please post a comment saying your interested in joining our team, What you think our team name should be, then click HERE to fill out the entry form. I have always wanted to get into 5K's and such so I am really excited to do this and most importantly it's for a good cause. Thank Everyone!

Help Needed!

We had a great chance this past February to let people know about CHD, what it is and what we can do to help spread awareness. Because little Abby has CHD and our family is so closely involved in trying to spread awareness we get to hear about other families who are struggling with CHD. One such family is a young couple who got pregnant with their first baby. But their "first" baby turned out to be triplets and one of these sweet babies was born with CHD. Little Linus is 6 months old and has already had 2 valve replacement surgeries.(to read his story click HERE.) Now his family is having a hard time paying for the medical bills. So to help raise money, they are having an auction on facebook. Here are a few of the items they have up for auction...

I want to become a shaolin monk.

Ok so the title is kinda a inside joke between James and I...let me just put it this way...Cheesy 80's movie. If you want a good laugh I would suggest this movie. Anyway that's not the point of this post. I actually wanted to update you a little on what's been going on in our life. Well I don't know if you remember but last Dec was the closure of James' martial arts studio. After that school closed he took a little time off to focus on school and to figure out what he wanted to do. After a month or so the search for another school started. James decided that he wanted to try a softer art. After a lot of searching and crossing off a lot of his choice's he finally decided on Kung Fu. So after the decision was made the search continued. Can I just say there a re not a lot of kung fu schools out there. Especially in the Ogden area. Well we narrowed it down to 2 one in downtown Salt Lake and the other in South Salt Lake. James and I visited both school and met the instructors for both. James did a free class to see what it would be like. Then the talking started, the talk was mostly about the cost of the different school and such. James decided on Master Lu's. The problem was trying to budget to see if we could afford the monthly fee. There is no contract which is super nice, so if we cant pay the fee then he can just practice at home or work something out with Master Lu. Well after we did our tax's and got our refund back we saw the opportunity and took it. So James once again has a school which we are both super excited about,.James absolutely loves it and it's been around for over 30 years so we are confident that it wont close soon. So I introduce to you James new school Master Lu's Health and Kung Fu Center. The man above is Master Lu. :) I'll keep you posted on how James likes it and anything else to update you on. :)

Goin' to the Chapel and They're Gonna Get Married

K-First some background. My niece Natasha (Tasha) is a wonderfully fabulous girl in every way possible. She is absolutely gorgeous, smart, funny and extremely talented. She had big plans and was ready to take on life. She started at UVU this last fall semester. She had been writing a missionary and shortly after he came home they started to date. Then last October over Halloween weekend he proposed to her. So on the weekend of March 12 James and I had a chance to go watch her and Logan be married. They got married in a church in South Jordan surrounded by family and close friends. The ceremony was beautiful and Tasha looked stunning. The bishop talked about continuing their friendship and courtship and to always serve and life for each other. After the ceremony we went outside for pictures, it was a little overcast but other than that a really beautiful day. After the pictures, they had a small luncheon and then Tasha a Logan left to go take more pictures at a different location with their photographer. James and I had a wonderful chance to catch up with my family which was really nice. They had the Reception in California. Two weeks after the ceremony we traveled down to Salt lake where James got to spend time with my brother in law while my sister Shelly and I met up with my other sisters for our monthly luncheon. After that and a wonderful stop by a Philippino market for goodies (yay!) We headed down to Orem for Tasha and Logan's open house. It was very simple and nice, We got to greet Tasha at the door and once mo0re congratulate her and then spend the evening eating and talking with family and friends. Close to the end of the open house Tasha sang a song with one of her friends. the friend she sang with actual wrote the song.
