Easter Fun in Video

These are just some fun video's I took on my phone. Enjoy!

Easter Weekend

We hope everyone had a fun and great Easter Weekend. Last Easter was a lot of fun to experience with Avery, but this Easter seemed to be a lot more fun. Maybe this is just going to be the way things continue till they become teenagers. :p I have a calling in my ward as an Activity Days leader. What that means is that we help teach the girls about certain things like about budgets, scriptures, manners, music and how to lead music, etc, etc. Our activity before Easter we decided to talk to the girls about the Savior and his resurrection and color eggs. Avery thought this was great fun. She was very good at carefully setting the eggs in the dye. She didn't quite understand why I wouldn't let her break and peel the shell for her to eat the eggs though.
Saturday night before Easter we colored some more eggs with daddy. It had been a long day and Avery was already pretty tired, so she didn't stay up to color them all. But she still had a lot of fun and still couldn't figure out why she couldn't eat the eggs. Yes she loves eggs that much. :p
After Avery went down to bed, James and I finished the rest of the eggs and had quite a lot of fun with it too. After the eggs were done, I stayed up trying to get more baking and food ready for the next day so I would be so rushed.
Sunday for us was stake conference in our ward...so...no we didn't go to church. but we still had fun Avery got a visit from the Easter Bunny and yes she got spoiled, that kinds happens when she's the first child. Plus it helps when your local Dollar Tree actually has a good selection of items. :p
  James and my basket.
Avery was pretty excited when she discovered there was chocolate in her eggs. We actually had to hide the candy from her before she shoved anymore in her mouth. She didn't get into finding the eggs as much till James started looking, then she realized what was going on and ran around calling for eggs and getting very excited when she would find one.

My Mr. Humpty Dumpty eggs. :) Aren't they cute!
After Avery's egg hunt I had a egg hunt set  up with the resurrection story in it that we did as a family. Then Nona had something she wanted to show Avery. She had bought the kids a bunch of zhu zhu pets with a fun home for them.

The rest of the day was fairly quiet. We were just getting ready for the family to come over for Sunday dinner.  We had a very good dinner and then the kids went to the park while we hid the eggs for when they got back. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun.
Overall we had a really great Easter.

Everyday Life for Us

We've done a few fun things at home and I thought it would be fun to share a few before Easter hits and I share our Easter adventures with you. I got this idea off pinterest (yes I am addicted and love this site) and thought Avery would have a lot of fun with it. The concept is to put a few drops of food coloring into milk and then let your kids "paint" their bread and then make toast out of it. Avery did have a lot of fun and really loved doing this.

We tried toasting it in the toaster and on the griddle. The griddle didn't work very well at all, but the toaster did ok. I think if I had my toaster over set up that it would have been the best option. So not to self for next time. :)
Since the weather has become so nice both in the day and night Daddy has been bringing out his telescope more and more and with his solar filter that he got last fathers day he has even been bringing it out in the day time too. (The filter described blocks out all the UV and dangerous light coming off the sun and makes it safe to look at. Please don't look at the sun with your naked eye or a telescope without one of these filters.)
James and I even took the telescope out and watched the "blood moon." :) The eclipse of the moon that just happened recently. I didn't get any good shots of it, but here's what I got.
See the bright dot up in the top right hand corner. That's Mars. We had the chance to look at it too. I really love this hobby of my hubby's. :D
With the nice weather we have been able to spend more and more time outside in the beautiful sunshine, and we have even had some visitors come over and say hi. :)
We also had an Easter egg hunt with our ward. She had a lit of fun with this. As soon as she picked up the concept and found her first egg, which was purple. She kept calling out for purple eggs.
She was even more excited when she found out that the eggs had candy in them.
Avery has also been asked to be the flower girl at my brother in laws upcoming wedding, which I am very excited for and Avery has no clue about. :p We had a chance to get out of the house and go look at some cute dresses and also to look for Easter shoes. When Avery started to get a little fussy we went to a little local cafe for some lunch before heading home for a much needed nap. The food wasn't very good, but it was so much fun having lunch with my little girl.
Last but not least our everyday fun of playing together is always fun. :)
