Officially SUMMER

With Avery finally out of school and the days getting hotter we decided to officially open up Summer. We were going to go to Quail Creek, but being Memorial weekend it was packed. Literally! The park was full and they were turning people away. So instead we headed to the Virgin River Park to enjoy some water fun there. The river was the perfect temperature and it was fun seeing all the little tadpoles along the bank. We even found a froggy friend. Avery wasn't sure about floating down the river on her tube but after a few small test runs she realized just how much fun it was and made trip after trip. Kilian enjoyed making sandcastles with daddy. But after awhile he decided to try out his new ducky floaty and join mommy in the water. We had so much fun we were sad to see the sun setting and realize that we had to go home. We will definitely be back though.

Teacher Gift

Avery has had the best teacher these past two years. She has been such a blessing to Avery and helped her so much. I wanted to make her a special gift to say thank you. We got her a fun summer water bottle and filled it with chocolate kisses and Twix (her favorite). I also made her a cute little wreath made out of school supplies. I helped Avery take everything in to school today so I got to see Mrs. Paces reaction. She really seemed to love it. 😁

Save the Squirrel

This morning I found the cat "playing" with a squirrel. He looked really small so it may have been a baby. I got him away from the cat and got him calmed down and wrapped in a towel. He settled right down and fell asleep. I made a makeshift pen for him in our laundry basket. I just put the towel that he had burrowed in the basket and then I put a lid over the top so he couldn't just out. I checked on him throughout the day but he just slept All Day! That poor cat must have really freaked him out. Later in the evening I knew I didn't want to leave him in the house at night. So I started scouting for places to put him where he can continue to sleep and the cat wont get him again. In a line of trees at the edge of the park I found a little hole at the base of one of the trees. I put him there and he was able to burrow further in and then nestle down to continue to sleep. I'm glad I was able to find this little guy before the cats killed him. I'd like to think I gave him a god chance of survival.

First Popsicle of the season. I sure love these molds, they are super cute and the kids love them.

Movie Night

Today we were suppose to be heading up to Salt Lake for a baby shower on Saturday. But because of some depression and money issues. I felt like it would be a better idea for us to stay home this weekend. So to make up for it I set up a theater in the small garage and we got to use our new projector to watch the new Chip n' Dale rescue rangers movie. We popped popcorn and had candy and drinks, Avery's friend Maya even got to come over and watch part of the movie with us. It was a lot of fun and the movie was really cute.

Cousin Weekend

Uncle Bob and Lucas came to visit us this weekend. Mom and Dad went to Texas for Evie's baptism so Lucas was able to sleepover at our house. They arrived around 10:00 on Wednesday and James and Bob had a chance to visit a little before Bob had to go to his hotel. He had a conference for work all day on Thursday and his work had already made reservations for a hotel. Thursday (May 19) James was able to stay with the boys while I took Avery to school. I kept an eye on the boys and in case they started acting bored or grumpy I could take them to the splash pad or somewhere. But they never did, they had a great time playing at the park by our house and playing Minecraft on the PlayStation. After awhile I put on the movie Cars while I did the dishes. It got really quiet and I got nervous because I couldn't see the boys outside. I found them curled up on the couch watching the show. 😂 Later we went and got Avery and James came home about the same time, which was nice so I could have some help with the kiddo's. But all day they were really good. It did take awhile for them all to calm down at night to go to bed, but that's normal for cousin sleepovers. Friday the boys played again at the park till it was time to go get Avery from school. By that time Bob was done with his work meetings. So we picked up Avery and headed into St George to meet Bob and Daddy for lunch at Larsen's Frost Top. After lunch and some ice cream, we headed to Thunder Junction (an all abilities park) The kids had fun running around and playing on all the different playground they have there. After over 2 hours of fun at the park the kids were worn out and Bob and Lucas still had to drive home to Salt Lake. We love spending time with cousins, especially having fun late night sleepovers.
