Sunday Thoughts-Ask and Ye shall Receive

My sister in law does a Sunday thought every week and I really enjoy reading them so I thought it would be fun to copy her...again. :p All morning before church I didn't see James and when I finally went to go find him I found him upstairs reading the Book of Mormon. We had talked about goals and he had a goal to finish the Book of Mormon before Aug 24th. Well when it was time to go to church James came down still reading. :) When he stopped reading he looked at me and told me he was almost done with Second Nephi. I couldn't believe it. James said how he just felt like he needed to read the Book of Mormon even if he didn't get every little piece. He just felt like he needed to read and get through the book as soon as possible.He said that he asked for help and the just started to read. But he said that the amazing thing is that a lot of what he was reading he was retaining. What a blessing for him. It's so neat to see him get so excited about the Book of Mormon. It reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures. "... But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance." I am so proud of James and for his faith. I am so blessed to be married to such a great man.

Mischievous Rosko

Well as the title implies more Rosko stories. :p A long time ago we came to the conclusion that Rosko is a very social dog... I guess we never realized just how social. A little while ago James took Rosko outside to get the mail. Across the street was our neighbor who stopped to get his mail too. He had just put some stuff in his truck and left to door wide open while he went to the mailbox. Well when Rosko saw that someone else was outside besides just him and James, he ran across the street and started jumping on this guy trying to get him to pet him. James apologized and the guy just laughed and pet Rosko. But that wasn't enough for Rosko. After the guy finished petting him Rosko ran over to this guys truck and jumped in then jumped in the back and looked at James like "ha ha I get a ride and you don't." :) The two guys were shocked and finally our neighbor turned to James and said "well I guess he's coming with me." James again kept apologizing. :) Another day I went out to get the mail and the mailman was still there and of course I had Rosko with me. Well after Rosko came back from another condo to see if Ginger was out (a golden retriever) He saw the mailman and ran right over to her and jumped in the mail truck with her, hie tail just wagging and he looked at her like "so where we goin." She was laughing so hard. Rosko has done the same thing to both UPS and FedEx. Our little dog just loves people especially kids. If he sees a kid and he's not on his leash the poor little kid is going to get licked to death. :) We had our family over on Sunday for dinner and Rosko thought that was the best thing in the world. Abby, Nate and Gavin seem to really enjoy him too. especially little Gavin. He would put his head down and by Rosko so Rosko could lick his nose and ears, etc. And Gavin would just laugh. Abby and Nate love giving Rosko treats and seeing him dance. We love our little dog. :)

Scrapbook Expo

Well this weekend was the scrapbook expo. I love going to this. They have it twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. They always have killer deals. Well this time I went with my friend Dawn and her good friends Ember and Natalie, these ladies were really nice and welcomed me like I was an old friend. :) We brought all of our scrapbook stuff in the hopes to scrapbook a few pages...well it turned out that that didn't happen. :) We were so busy looking at all the booths and going back to some of the booths that by the time we got back to our table to try and scrapbook, we were all so beat. Dawn and I left close to 5 and the scrapbook thing only went till 6...I think. :) When I got home and started to unload all my stuff I realized I got A LOT for only $35. For fall I think I want to save up a little more money. :) Oh an Natalie gave me a great idea. She said that what she does is makes a list of all the stuff she needs and then picks out the things that she feels needs to come first and then sets a budget. What a great idea. :) I think for fall I'm going to use her plan. Thanks Dawn for a wonderful Saturday!!!. :)

Tag!!!

My friend Katie did a fun tag on her blog. It is questions about herself, like those things that get sent around the e-mail every now and then, and at the end she picked some friends to "Tag", and I was one of them:) So here goes:

Best Meal: I have had so many good meals it's hard to narrow it down to one. So I have narrowed it down to 5. Katie's mom's cooking. I would go over to my friend Katie's house and her mom would always cook for us. oh goodness it was good. I cant remember any specific day or what it was she cooked cause there are to many. :) Second is my mom and dads dutch oven omelet and blue berry muffins. It is so good. If I could I'd ask them to make it every time we go down. Third Jill's chicken and rice. I don't know what she adds but I can never get my chicken and rice to taste like that. The rice has so much flavor and the chicken is so tender. mmmmm! fourth and this might seem a little weird, but the best friend chicken I've ever had was in the Philippines at a member house. I feel really bad cause I cant remember her name. Finally the last meal...my father in laws steak. Every Sunday we have a family dinner and the food is always SO good. But I love when my father in law cooks steak. I know it's a lot but hey I love food. :)

Best Car: I have really enjoyed...most cars that I owned. (I really hated that yellow Oldsmobile that I had) But I think the one that I really love is the one that I have now. My Jeep. I really loved my old Jeep, but The one we own now is so much fun. It has a lift and quick disconnects and it's a 4-wheelin monster. :) I love it. This has been my first Jeep that I could actually go wheelin in.

Best Hobbies: I have quite a few. I really enjoy learning new things and can sometimes have a "craving" to go back and re-learn something or continue a project. I love working with animals. I love seeing the intelligence they have and how when you teach them something new the confusion at first but then the understanding when they finally understand the hand signal, or the movement of your body. I also like to try new crafts, (rock magnets, stamping, making cards, etc.) I really enjoy scrapbooking, sewing, writing, painting, photography, etc. There is probably more but I cant think of any. :p

Best Vacation: My family's kinda big on vacations. Every year we have some sort of reunion. Either the Perkins family reunion (which is every other year) and when we don't have the Perkins family reunion then we have a family trip which is all of my brother and sisters and their family's go somewhere (Last year we went to flaming gorge). So this is more of a vacation time that I enjoyed. Ever Summer we would have a family counsel and plan out our vacations for the summer and once a year we would go visit our family in California. We would stay with my brother Byron and his wife Jill. This was a time I always looked forward too. I loved visiting with them and playing with my nieces Erika and Brieanna. I also loved to visit my aunt and uncles houses. My aunt Katherine had this huge yard. She had a field for horses, (which we all know how much I love horses. :D) a swimming pool and hot tub, a bunk house, my grandma's old trailer, a stream to play in, and much more. i could go on and on. :) I love my Aunt Katherine's house. We also went to my Aunt Colleens house. They have a lot of land. I think 1000 + acres I cant remember. My cousins and I use to go down to this river and go swimming and pick wild black berries. They would sometimes take me pheasant hunting with them. It was a lot of fun. Sometimes I wish I could rewind to those trips just to re-live them. :)

Best Vacation Without Kids: Well we don't have kids yet. :p So I'm going to say the best vacation since we've been married. Well Flaming gorge was a lot of fun and so was this past Jeep Safari. But I have a certain day keep coming to mind and I really enjoy it so this is it...It's not a vacation but it was a lot of fun. Last summer James and I went in on season passports with Nikki and Justin and their kids. Well one day we decided to go to lagoon. I had been getting over a cold and just wanted to get out of the house. So James and I went to Lagoon. The reason why it was so fun is cause we didn't go there to catch every ride that we could and race to the next like I was use to. Since we could come here whenever we wanted to we decided to just walk around and enjoy. We went to the pioneer park there and explored all the little shops and museums and we walked through all the old pioneer houses and looked at the animals. It was a really relaxing day and a great chance for James and I to just talk and enjoy each others company. We did go on a few rides but the feeling wasn't the same. It felt very peaceful and relaxing and i could really feel my love for him growing.

Best Job I Ever Had: I have enjoyed almost ever job that I have had. So here's a few I've had with a "good times" blurb. Young's Machine Co.- I got to work with my sister and I loved the people there, Steve, Bill, Frank, They were awesome. Subway- I loved working with my friends and having a good time throwing Swedish fish at the Conoco workers. :p Day Care- It helped me learn how to play with kids..I'm still working on it. Slickrock Campground- If I didn't have to choose a "best job" this would probably be it. My boss treated me like I was his own daughter, I loved working with the people,(which I did meet a few "interesting" people to say the least) and my co-workers. I had privileges that most people didn't get, (Like I got to wait till after hours and I got the pool and hot tubs all to myself.) and many more. :) Kitchen Collections- This job was a little hard but it taught me the importance of being proud of what you do, and leadership. Unisource- I was able to learn a lot of new skills to help me get better jobs for the future, It also helped me to come out of my shell a little. Bev's Barn- It helped me work on my organization and memorization skills. Monticello Library- This was after my mission and it helped me remember my love for reading....I'm sure I learned more I just cant remember. :) LDS Printing Division-This job helped keep me out of my shell. My mission kinda yanked me out of it :) and this job helped keep me out. It was also great to know that what I was doing was benefiting people around the world. It made me feel like I was still on my mission. LDS Business College- I have learned a lot here. Patience for one(which I am still working on), Friendship for another, etc.

Best Thing To Buy If Money Wasn't An Issue: Well everyone knows how much I love to shop. :) but the thing that i would love to buy if money weren't an issue is our ranch. A cute little house on 50+ acres with a few horses. That has been my dream for a long time and I would still love to get that someday. Also I would buy James his dream car.

Best Age Growing Up: I think you can take life in stages. Childhood, teenage years, "college years" (which helps if you really are in college), newly weds, life with kids, etc. I really have enjoyed my life. I agree with Katie on this. I don't have a Best age. I enjoy everything about all these different stages in my life. Even when dad had us get up at 6:30 to do pull weeds in the garden during the summer. :)

Best Toys When I Was a Kid: It's funny cause every now and then I remember a particular one and reminisce about it. :) So I'm going to give it a shot. Teddy Ruxpin, my glow worm bunny, my little ponies,Barbies, hot wheels with our big sheet that mom made for us with a town on it, it had everything it even had a lake with railroad tracks around it, transformers, he-man castle with green tiger,Laser tag etc. Like I said I really enjoyed my childhood.

Best Date Before I Was Married: I would have to say my first date with James. We went out on a Friday before work. He came and picked me up and we talked all the way down to Hollywood Connections...where our date was going to be, Well when we got there we realized that it didn't open till much later and we couldn't do that cause we had to work. So James being very confident said it was ok and on to plan b. Well little did I know there was no plan b. :) (He told me this later of course) So we were on 1-80 and he asked if I would prefer to go see a laser show or go see animals. This wasn't a tough one for me. :) ANIMALS! :D So we started off towards the zoo asking each other questions and talking up a storm when I got a "cough attack" It was so embarrassing. I was coughing so hard It was making me cry. I was trying to be all discrete about it. but it didn't work. But James was really nice about it. He pulled over at a gas station and bought me a water and some cough drops. I kept apologizing and he said "yes how dare you cough in front of me." :) he then gave me a really cute look and said I didn't need to worry. :) it was funny, and it got us talking about some embarrassing moments in our lives. We continued to talk the whole time at the zoo. After we still had time before work so we went to Iceberg and got some ice cream and had a chance to talk until we really had to go cause we would have been late. :) It was so much fun. we continued to hang out at work. It was the weekend before the 4th of July so the Printing Division had a BBQ to celebrate. It gave us another chance to talk some more. :)

Party Foul!!!

This was the only thing I could think of for this blog. Not cause this blog is really about a "party foul". But just cause it fit. :) This weekend my good friend Dawn came out and I was planning to make spaghetti. Dawn and I made the spaghetti and had a lot of fun talking and joking. We would eat the noodles and give some to Rosko. Well we started to dish out our plates and Dawn leaned down to give Rosko some more noodles and splat, he got her whole plate on top of him. I was laughing so hard. She felt so bad and is probably going to be so embarrassed that I posted this. But it was too funny. I love it. It makes me laugh so hard. The rest of the evening went great. James even joined us later and helped us play Super Mario. I love you Dawn..thanks for making me laugh. :D

Puppy fun

This is just a fun little video I wanted to share of Zeek and Rosko playing around. These little puppies are brothers. We have Rosko ( I guess thats kinda a "duh" moment:p) and Zeek belongs to my neice Erika. It's so much fun to get those two together and watch them play. Anyway it's really cute. :)

Let it rain, Let it rain, Let it rain.

Today at work I opened the blinds to see the sky pretty dark still and figured the sun just hasnt come up yet. Later on in the day I noticed that it was still dark so I went to the window and .....TADA RAIN!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!! James and I have really loved the winter and all the snow we received. (which is rather weird for me cause I really dont like winter or the snow) But because of the drought that Utah seems to have year round I thought this winter was a nice change. Then it started to warm up a little and I was/am excited for spring and for warmer weather. But it also got me worried that we wouldnt receive anymore moisture. So when I saw that it started to rain and is still raining, I got really excited. People here at work have kinda been complaining a lot about the snow and rain and if they ask me what I thought about it....they usually didnt like my answer. :) James gets excited when he see's the puddles on the dirt. There is this IHC out by us that we drove by on our way to the doctor a while back and we were stopped at the light when I happened to notice that out in front of the IHC they have this cute little pond for the ducks to play in. It helped give a very peaceful feeling to the hospital. Then James told me that it wasnt suppose to be there, that it was suppose to be grass. Then he said that he really liked seeing it cause it means that the ground has enough water. I really hope all the farmers and ranchers are getting the water they need...and on a more selfish note...my friend Dawn told me that they are expecting Lake Powell to get 50 feet of water back. :)

Positive word and lightening the load

Well I thought I better make this news separate from my last dreary post. :) Yes I have been sick almost all this week BUT, Something happened that was kinda a little miracle for me. Well I posted awhile ago that James and I want to start a family and have planned to do so at the end of this summer. For those of you to know James this took a lot of guts to plan this goal. he is very nervous about us having kids. He feels that it will change his life for mostly bad reason. He told me once that sometimes it seemed like kids were a hindrance and that he felt he would have to give up thing he really loves to be able to have kids. Like Tae Kwon Do. No matter how many times his family and I have tried to point out all the good things he still felt a little negative about the matter. Well a couple weeks ago he said he had been talking to a lot of guys he looked up to about what it was like for them to have kids and asked if it was normal to be scared and feel the things he has been feeling. They assured him it was normal to be scared and basically told him everything we've told him too. With James being really worried about this it has made me worried for him. I have been watching what I talk about with him as far as kids and I try not to overdose him or make him freak out by talking about babies. Well this past Monday after Tae Kwon Do. He came home and wanted to talk to me about long term and short term goals. Well in that talk one of the things he told me is that he is actually excited about starting a family. :D That just made my whole week. It felt like a load was lifted from me and that I didn't have to worry anymore. So that's kind of my miracle of the week.

Career Conference and the sniffles

So this past weekend was the big Mary Kay conference that I have been looking forward to. So I had all my stuff packed and in the car on Friday ready to go straight there after work. Well all of Friday I was feeling kinda *blah* but I just figured it was due to the lack of sleep. So after work I had a chance to take my friend Dawn home and talk with her a little. Yes I will admit that while we were talking both of us kinda dozed off. But I woke up with enough time to hop on the freeway and zoom down to the hotel to check in and go to the conference room. Well when I got there luckily Renee and Katie called. (my sales director and recruiter) They informed me that it was at the South Town Expo center so I zoomed down there. Well ever since I woke up from my "nap" :p my throat was really hurting. I tried to not pay much attention to it. The Conference that night was awesome...I do admit with me being shy it is kinda crippling. All the ladies were dancing and we did special acknowledgements and give aways. Plus we had National sales directors talk to us about ways we can improve our business's and we got some great information about what the company is up to now and where it's headed. It was so fun. Well after the first part my throat was killing me it hurt to even swallow. But I pressed on I didn't want this to ruin my weekend. So Katie and I went and got dinner and then went back to the hotel to meet up with everyone for a "Jammie" party. It was fun just being able to hang out with the girls. but by 11:30 I started to feel really yucky. I stayed up till 12:00 but couldn't do it anymore. I apologized to everyone and went to bed. Well Saturday morning came and I wasn't feeling any better. I thought a shower might help but...nope. :( So I finally gave in and figured it would be better to go home now. So once again I apologized again. I felt so bad. Well when i got home I went back to bed and when i woke up around noon I had a fever and just all around didn't feel good. :( But through rest and my wonderful husband I am now back at work and on my feet. :) i still have a little bit hanging on but I think I'll be ok...hopefully. :p
