Wedding

It's taken us a few days to re-coop from this. :p But on May 17th my brother in law Robert was married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. I had the opportunity to go to the ceremony and watch them be sealed together. the love and spirit that I was able to feel there was amazing. I had a wonderful personal experience that I have actually saved for my other journal. Sorry but I feel it was something that was meant just for me and so I don't want to share it with the world.
Rob has been searching for a long time and I have not seen him as happy as his new wife Ilia makes him. After the ceremony we went onto the temple grounds to meet up with the rest of our family as well as Ilia's (pronounced ill-e-ah). I was chasing Avery all around the temple grounds so I didn't get any pictures but I was able to get some from other family members.

After we were done taking pictures we only had a couple hours before the reception so we took advantage of that time to go get some lunch/dinner at Red Robin. Then we headed up to Foothill to the reception at a cute little church at the mouth of the canyon. I got Avery changed into her flower girl outfit and got her all dolled up for a few more pictures. She didn't like that to much. The reception was nice. I was able to see a lot of James' family and friends that I haven't seen in a while as well as meet some new friends. Most of the evening was chasing Avery around the church so I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the actual reception space. But I was able to eat a little food and get snatched by James to dance one dance with him. I didn't get to see the bride and grooms first dance but I got to see the cake, garter and bouquet. The reception went well into the night and then Avery and I locked ourselves in the mothers room so everyone could clean up without worrying about Avery getting in their way, taking food or running out the open doors. Rob and Ilia stayed pretty late before making there way to Park City for the night and then to the airport the following morning to their honeymoon in Bora Bora.
Oh I really wish this picture worked. This was the only picture I got on my camera. James and Avery were dancing and right as I grabbed the camera and tried to snap the picture Avery ran away. So I got this lovely picture of her running away.

Zoo Visit

For my birthday last year my mother in law gave us tickets to the zoo. We wanted to go in the fall but that fell through so we made a plan and we were able to stick to it. April 28th James took the day off and we headed out to Salt Lake for a fun day. We found out that they don't start charging till the child is 3. So we might make a trip back to go see the African safari exhibit. :) We missed the grand opening by a few days. Oh well. :) We finally got Avery through the front gates and got her to stop talking to the lady and say bye. She wasn't quite sure where we were and what to expect.  We tried to show her the monkeys but she didn't quite understand. Then we saw the elephants. :) We couldn't pull her away. We tried to tell her that there was more animals to see. When she finally realized that there was a lot more animals to see, we couldn't stop her, she loved it.

Avery loved the tiger, while we went up to show her the wolves the tiger started to roar. Avery was SO excited and would roar right along with him as we headed back down the hill.
Avery was so tired by the end of the day, she didn't want to see anymore animals. James took her out to the car while I made a stop to the gift shop. When I got back to the car to help James load in the stroller Avery was cuddling her little monkey backpack and was almost asleep. I put her new book in her lap. she looked down at it and pick it up. Slowly a smile spread across her face as she said "Ave's book." :). We headed back home but decided to stop by Chili's for an early dinner. Then headed home.
