Nona and Grumpy and the Gardens

 Nona and Grumpy are heading up to Ogden but made a stop here in Hurricane for the night. Were excited to have them with us if only for a day. Kilian was excited to get home from school and see that they were already here. Avery was staying after school to practice with her glee club for their upcoming performance. So they followed us over to her school to pick her up and then we headed into St George to go to dinner. We went to the Pizza Factory for dinner and then headed to the Desert gardens to see some lights. We had a great time with Nona and Grumpy and are excited to see them up in Ogden in about a week.

Thanksgiving

 This was our first Thanksgiving with just our little family of four. At first I was a little weirded out by the idea but the closer and closer it got I became very excited to have this holiday with just us. I decided to bake another pumpkin pie from scratch. Which went very well...until I tried to pull one out of the oven and it slipped through my hands and landed on the oven door.

It was sad at first but at least I had another pumpkin pie. :) I also made Lemon meringue, and a cherry pomegranate pie.

Since its out first Thanksgiving as a family, we started a new tradition this year that instead of getting dressed up for dinner; we are going to enjoy dinner in our pajamas. It seemed like a big hit. Dinner was delicious and we had fun and enjoyed being together for Thanksgiving. 

Time out for Fall

 Tonight we decided we just needed a moment to stop what we were doing a take a minute to just enjoy fall and the beautiful leaves around us. We went and grabbed some dinner and then headed to Sullivan Park in Washington. The kids had fun playing on the playground and James and I just sat, talked and enjoyed the view. something we felt like we have not done in a very long time. It was nice to be able to talk to each other without being interrupted by the kids so much. Plus the trees around us were so beautiful, after the past couples weeks feeling hectic with Halloween, school performances, work, etc. it was nice to just take a minute to enjoy each others company and have a peaceful evening for once.

Veterans Day

 

Both kids got to be in a veterans day program. Avery sang a song with her Glee club at the high schools veterans day program. Kilian sang with his class in his elementary schools program. Both seemed to have a fun time and both did very well. I have video of the performances but it wont let me upload for some reason.
