Happy Birthday!

We have two birthdays today the first one is....

My sister in law Jill. :) hee hee I love this picture I think it's so cute. Jill is a wonderful Mother to 4 beautiful girls. She loves spending time with them and going to new and fun places. She loves to camp, hike and joke around. She is also a wonderful grandma to 2 little girls and 1 (soon to be 2) little boy. So here's to you Jill on your day...

Our next birthday is...

My Wonderful Father in law Gregg...other wise known as Dad A. :D Dad has helped me and taught me so many things these past few years. Him and mom have helped James and I out so much and in so many ways. They are a great support to him and I. Dad loves spending time with the family and he always makes sure that everyone is doing good. He has wonderful stories from his life and loves to share them. They are so fun to listen to and also to watch his reaction to. :) So here's to you Dad on your special day... Crack open a cold one and have a Quigley and western show day. :)

Weekend Fun!

We had a fun filled holiday this past weekend. Both James and I had Friday off and we got a call from my sister asking if we wanted to go camping with them up at Oakcrest. (Oakcrest is a girls camp for 7th and 8th graders. My sister and niece work there and it was free this past weekend.) Thursday night I was able to spend with my friend Karen and her and I were able to go shopping for the trip. Friday morning James did some home work while I tried to motivate myself to clean. Then we packed up our stuff and headed out. After getting lost only once and backtracking only once to look at some super cute horses we got there. Hooray! James and I thought didn't think that anybody else was going to be there so we were shocked to pull into the camp right behind my sister in law and her kids. It was so good to see them, we haven't seen them in such a long time. After being found by my niece Lexi we settled in to a cabin called tree hut (where a lot of the workers stay) to wait for my sister Nancy and her husband Gary. We occupied ourselves with books, homework, a Nintendo DS and sewing. After awhile we thought it would be fun to explore. After awhile Lexi found us again and asked if we wanted to do some archery. I haven't shot a bow and arrow in so long so I was really very excited. it was a lot of fun, As we were moving to a different archery range we saw that Nancy and Gary had arrived. We continued to do some archery and visit and then the kids were excited to do the zip line. So we packed up the bows and arrows and headed for the zip line. To be honest the zip line scares me! I don't know why. I think it's the being strapped to a cable with no way of controlling yourself. But I DID do it! :D Once. I think if the harness's would have been different I might have really enjoyed it, oh and the body/face slam into the mattress at the end wasn't to fun either. :p it was a lot of fun watching everyone else go and trying new and silly ways...being blindfolded, going backwards and even trying upside down. After awhile people started going off and doing other things. The boys went to go shoot some guns and kill some pot guts and James, Shay lee, and Lindsay went to go try the obstacle course and came running back to grab me to go with them. This time they said they were going to race. That didn't last very long for me, my pedometer came flying off and flew up the course while the battery went the other way. After a search and rescue team was called and we located the battery it was back on course. It was a lot of fun. I though I was going to eat dirt on the rope bridge but I kept my balance well and Shay lee and I had a hard time going down the rope ladder because of how high it was. But after some negotiations, I got down alright with just a miner rope burn on my foot. :p The rope where your suppose to hang like a monkey and slide across didn't work very well for us, our backs kept either hitting the dirt or in James and my cause we were just laying down in the dirt. :p It was a lot of fun, we headed back to start getting stuff ready for dinner. We hauled all our stuff over to where the campfire would be. (With the help or Lexi's trusty mini camp truck called a gator.) We roasted hot dogs and then did s'mores while we told stores, jokes and just talked. It was a nice to relax, enjoy a campfire and talk with family I haven't seen in awhile. After hauling everything back We spread mattress on the floor of the main cabin or "Tree Hut" then Lexi and James worked their magic and got the projector hooked up to our laptop and we all feel asleep watching the Italian job. Well all except James and Nancy who were able to stay awake and watch the whole thing. On Sat after a yummy breakfast of french toast, eggs and bacon compliments of Gary and Byron. :) (thanks guys) We headed to the range to shoot some pop cans with the 22's. This is almost heaven for me. I love love LOVE going shooting. We even split it up one group shot 22's and another shot arrows the two ranges were right next to each other so it was fun. After that we played a rousing un -official game of baseball till it got to hot. Then some of the kids went back to the zip line some went back to shooting. then it was time to pack it up and call it a day. Byron and Lindsay both had to be to work and we had plans with James family that night. So we did one last family "outing" and met at Wendy's for a quick lunch and to say goodbye. After a quick shower when we got home we headed over to Nikki's for dinner and the backyard Olympics put together by James and the kids there was rope jumping, rope high jumping (onto the love sac), freestyle jumping (again on the love sac) synchronized swinging and jumping by Nate and Abby, Abby's debut of how she can now go on the monkey bars, and the all famous Tonka Truck Surfing. This took place after dinner and Nikki and I actually missed most of the backyard Olympics cause we went to go get fireworks but we got back just in time for dessert. :) The fireworks were a big hit with the kids they loved helping James light them and then picking them up after they were done to put them in the water bucket. Mom,Dad and Lisa didn't stay for the fireworks so it was just James and I with Nikki and the kids. it was so much fun watching them get all excited, Especially little Ethan. After the two little boys were bathed and in bed Nikki, Abby, Nate, James and I had a ghost hunters marathon and watched the past two weeks. We had such a great 24th. Birthday Weekend

Well first I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the calls, e-mails, text's, facebook posts etc. I had a really nice birthday. Thursday James surprised me by staying home from work. We went to dinner at Costa Vida and then he took me shopping for some much needed clothes. Then we went and got ice cream and rented bounty hunter. It was a really nice night and so good to spend all that time with him. I dont get to see him a whole lot anymore because of work and school. I had Friday off so after a few errands, the dogs and I went up to Pineview to go fishing ( I was going to go to Causey but by the time I got everything I needed to I figured that would be to far.) After wrestling with my pole and losing a few lures due to my line snapping I thought it would be fun to have swim lessons with the dogs...they didn't like it to much but I though it was fun. It was nice to just sit in the sun by the water. I did get in the water but I don't like to fully go swimming alone so I didn't go much past my hips, I did get my pole working right only to look around and see Toto missing. After calling and looking around I wandered back up the hill to the truck and I found him in a panic running down the road. I didn't start to panic myself till he started running in the road and I saw a diesel coming. Luckily the car coming the other direction saw this too and pulled across both lanes and stopped. Her and the guy behind her tried to coax Toto to them but because he was in such a panic he didn't know where to go, He wouldn't even come to me. Finally with both lanes of traffic stopped a lady jumped out of a jeep and snatched him as he ran past. I was so relieved that he was ok. He was REALLY scared but other than that fine. Rosko watched all this from the bed of the truck. (I think he wanted to go visit the dogs at the house across the road, then didn't know how to get back to me.) After getting both dogs back down to the lake and putting Toto on the leash it was nice and relaxing again. I didn't catch anything, and I saw a few smaller fish swimming close to me the later it got, nothing to impressive the largest was probably only about 8 or 9 inches long but it sure was fun. I got a nice tan and sunburn too. After a few hours at the lake I packed up and headed home to get ready and go to my friend Karen's house. We had dinner and went to take advantage of an awesome sale Harmon's was having. She also bought me a cute shoe for my key chain. :) I love it! then back to her house for crochet lessons, the way she explained it made it easy to understand and for the most part I now know how to crochet. (you heard me right mom. :p) I always love spending time with Karen and her cute little daughter Danielle we always have so much fun together. :) Saturday was a nice lazy day which I loved, then later James and I had the chance to go to the temple and do some sealings. Sunday dinner was at Kim and Gordy's this week and I got to prepare the menu. :) Oh Yeah! We had shish kabobs, corn on the cob, steamed asparagus YUM! Red velvet cake and a homemade Carmel cake for dessert. Mom A. decorated the Carmel cake so cute too. I also got some awesome gifts from everybody including this book that I've been wanting to read for awhile but haven't worked up the guts to buy. Thanks Nikki! Over all it was a really great birthday weekend. Thanks again everybody!

Happy Birthday

Today is my nephew Addi's birthday. Addi is a great kid who likes to have fun. He enjoys snowboarding and hanging out with friends and family. He is currently up at BYU Idaho and enjoying every minute of it from what I understand. Well everything except being at a BYU school ;) Addi is a hardcore Utah fan, but he's having a great time. Happy Birthday Addi I hope you do something fun today!

Pet of the Week

Meet Cole. Cole is a small dog that weights 25 lbs and is a terrier mix. He is mostly black and white but has some silver and grey as well. He is already neutered and up to date on all his shots. Meet Barron and Missy. Baron and Missy are small Italian Greyhounds about 25 lbs. Here's is what was said about Baron and Missy...

"These 2 beautiful iggies are Barron and Missy. They have come from a home where they where very well loved and cared for, but sadly, their dad died, and their mom was forced into moving to low income housing where she wasn't able to keep her beloved IGs. These 2 are very sweet, loving, affectionate IGs, and unlike many of the IGs we get in rescue, have never known the abuse or neglect most of our rescues suffer. They are very well socialized, and while they get along with kids, we feel they would do better in a more mature home. Barron is 8 years old, neutered, current on his shots, heartworm negative, and in great health. Missy is 6 years old, spayed, also current on her shots, heartworm negative, and in great health. These 2 are very bonded to each other, so we are seeking a home where they'll be allowed to remain together for the rest of their lives. IGs live long lives, these dogs could easily live another 9 or 10 years! Older IGs are the best, they won't chew your furniture, they're already house trained, they're less active then their younger counter parts, and are just seeking someone to love them and give love back to!!! Busy Weekend but lots of Fun

Well the title pretty much explains it all. :p We had a very hectic but very fun weekend. On Friday I had to stay till 5 to make up the hours I lost from having July 5th off. (I don't get holiday, vacation or sick days) But after that I got to go over to my friend Dawn's house and help her pack and move some stuff over to her new house. She has been stressing about getting moved and everything so I am happy I was able to help her out and try and lift some of that stress...even if it meant making myself look silly just to get her to laugh. :p James had training at work today so he got off work 2 hours earlier than normal so he was able to help us take one last load over before we called it a night. i was surprised at how much stuff we were able to fit into Dawn's X-Terra and our little truck. James and I didn't get home and to bed till about 2:30. :p Saturday after some much needed sleep, i got to clean the house while James did homework then that night we go together with our good friends and their two cute little boys to go watch Grown Ups . Which was hilarious! All of us were laughing so hard...James and I might actually go see it again. It was great to visit with our friends the Pettingills again it has been so long since we've seen them, we had a great time...again we didn't get home and to bed till about 2:00. Sunday we rode down with Mom and Dad Armstrong to Sandy for James' 2nd cousin Nathans farewell and then over to their house for a luncheon. It was good to visit with James side of the family, we rarely get to see them so when we do it's really nice. After the luncheon Mom and Dad Armstrong, Lisa, Abby, Nate, James and I all went the scenic route up to bear lake. it was a lot of fun. We did get a little lost in Evanston on what road to take but not for long. I forget how blue that lake is James says it's really cold but wow it's so pretty. We stopped in town and got some raspberry shakes and enjoyed the afternoon. After awhile we headed back to Brigham city through Logan and Sardine canyon. We stopped briefly at mom and dad's and James and I climbed into Lisa's car with the kids. After dropping off the kids and getting home ourselves we let the dogs out and sat outside for awhile enjoying the evening and eating some dinner before we headed to Weber for the fireworks. Weber has a really neat firework show every year the weekend between the 4th and 24th. the military brings down a cannon and the shoot off an amazing firework show to music and this cannon, It's really very neat. traffic kinda sucks after words but man is is worth it. If you have never been or never even heard of it I would highly recommend you try and see it next year. After the show we hung around and visited with Nikki and Justin to let traffic die down a bit before we went home. Overall it was a very fun weekend. :) Sorry I forgot my camera through all of that. I did take some pictures on my phone but I couldn't get them to send to my e-mail.

Pets of the Week

This week I found a few animals that I wanted to post. There are so many good animals out there who need good homes and I feel by doing this I can help get them a little closer to finding their owners. :) So we are going to start...

Meet Max. Max is a lovable 10 month old puppy who loves other dogs and kids. He has a lot of energy and needs a home with dog lovers. He is crate and house trained and is also fixed and has a micro chip. He is loving and fairly well trained. The lady who owns him is getting rid of him because her husband isn't a big fan of dogs. Meet Boo. Boo is a terrier mix and came from a home with lots of love and attention and is anxious to find his new family. Boo is used to giving and receiving affection and he loves to interact with people. Boo has been house trained and is good with cats as well as other dogs. Boo is up to date with routine shots, house trained and neutered. 4th of July Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did. :) On Friday we had the chance to go to a sealing to watch some good friends of ours be sealed with their little girl for time and all eternity. I love watching families be sealed together the spirit is so sweet and loving, it just seems a little different. That was also my first time in the bountiful temple, it was different cause I am so use to going to sealings in the Salt Lake but it was so beautiful. On Saturday my sister sent me an early birthday present and got me tickets to go see Eclipse. So after James got home from Tae Kwon Do we went down to the Junction to the 2:00 show. It was kinda funny, I guess when they printed off our tickets they printed them wrong and we didn't notice. So we went and got settled into the theater and soon we had a group of ladies come up and tell us we were in their seats, but our tickets showed that they were right so we just scooted over two seats thinking it wasn't that big of a deal. then the ladies for those seats came and saw we were in their seats we explained the mix up and they left so we thought everything was fine. Then they came back with an usher, he looked at our tickets and everyone else's then asked us to move down a row and if someone comes and kicks us out again that he would take care of it. Well sure enough these two teenagers came and got REALLY mad that we were sitting there. So at this point James and I had had enough. We stood in the isle then the usher asked if we could stand against the wall he would go see what was wrong and fix it. so we watched the first few minutes of the movie standing against the wall till the usher came back and said we needed to go back to the box office and get new tickets. So 10 minutes later we got our tickets and were walking back into the theater to find the new seats we had selected had two girls sitting in them. Grrrrr. oh well no worries we just sat in the seats next to them. It was so frustrating but we were able to watch Eclipse. It was really great I loved it and James actually didn't think it was to bad either. :D After the movie we went up to Mom and Dad Armstrong's house for dinner and to visit with them. Sunday after church we went to Nikki's for Sunday dinner and to light off fireworks. Both James and I had Monday off so Abby slept over Sunday to Monday and we played Rock band for awhile. Monday morning I made crepes for breakfast ( a newly acquired skill. Thanks Lisa.) and we played a little more rock band before heading off to the store to pick up some water balloons for later. Abby and I filled these up while James did homework and then it was off once again to Mom and Dad Armstrong's to celebrate the 4th. The kids had a water fight with James and Bob while Nikki, Mom and I decorated cupcakes for dessert. Between almost 400 water balloons, 3 water guns, 2 hoses and a whole lot of pitchers, buckets and cups everyone got soaked. :) The kids had a lot of fun. After getting everyone cleaned up we had some dinner and dessert and then watched the Brigham city fireworks from Mom and Dad's drive way. Over all we had a very fun and eventful 4th. :D

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy and Safe 4th of July Holiday weekend. I love this country! I am so proud to live in this great nation where I can choose for myself how I want to live my life. I am so proud and grateful for all the men and women who fought to make this country free and who still fight to keep that freedom. I am grateful that even through trials and tribulation and people who have tried to get this great nation to change, we are still a country who holds to the belief that God blesses America and that we do still trust in him. I couldn't imagine raising my future children in a country where they couldn't make their own choices. I love to see the flags waving from peoples houses and the increase of red,white and blue clothing warn this month. I love to see Americans come together and forget petty differences and stand as one to celebrate the independence that we get to enjoy and live everyday. I am Proud to Be an American!
