Animals gone VIRAL

 On Feb 23rd I got a call from animal control officer Bayley asking for me to come out and help her with a dog situation. Someone had put two large dogs in a kennel and "dumped" them out by Quail Creek State Park. After we got them back to the shelter and settled later that day Bayley posted about them on Facebook trying to see if anyone has any information about who may have abandoned them. this post went VIRAL! We were getting calls from news media all over the country. People magazine online even did an article about them. People were calling in asking to adopt them and to voice their frustration. It got to the point where I printed out a map to keep track of all the calls and where they were coming from. I named them Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. We later learned their names were Loki and Indie. We [Bayley] had no idea this would take off the way it did.

Beautiful Girl

 I always love going through my phone and James' phone and seeing these fun pictures of the kiddos. Avery is turning into such a beautiful young woman. I love her silliness and that she doesn't shy away from pictures, no matter how silly or unexpected they are.

Dentist

 It's that time of year again the kiddos got their teeth cleaned and sealants on their teeth. Avery struggles for some reason with going to the dentist but Kilian was so brave and took it like a champ.

Valentines Day

 I actually had a chance to "help" make a valentines day box. Avery never let me help with hers, so I am MORE than happy to "help" with Kilian's box. I did it mostly at work. It was a lot of fun to make and Kilian really loved it. He was excited to take it to school. After school he said that everyone loved his valentines box and had a fun valentines day at school. 

SNOW WAY!

 We actually got a little skiff of snow today. The snow didn't last very long, it never does. By the end of the day it had all melted, but I am just super happy to see rain or snow to add moisture to the area. But the dog we have named Loki was NOT amused. :))

Animal Shelter Shinanigans

 Just wanted to share some of the animals and cases we've had the last couple months. I really love my job and am so thankful that I get a chance to work with animals now on a daily basis.

Lap Quilt

 I got my sewing machine fixed...again and was Finally able to finish this lap quilt I have been working on. It turned out so good. I am hoping that the more I quilt and try new things the better I will get. Avery has also expressed interest in learning how to use the sewing machine. By the pictures you can also see Luna likes the new quilt too and has officially dubbed it as hers. :D
