Fathers Day

I both love and hate that Avery's birthday and fathers day is usually always back to back. But it's also a fun party week/weekend and they seem to like having the two so close together. James wasn't feeling to well today so he slept for most of the day. But in that time the kids and I were able to make him this for Fathers Day and I made him his favorite dinner. Even though he wasn't feeling well he still seemed to enjoy his day.

Happy Fathers Day to the Greatest Dad we ever SAW. 😄

It's Great to be 8!

Today our little girl turned 8. This is a birthday she has been waiting for. We didn't have as many decorations as I thought we did. But Avery and I harnessed our creative side and was able to make some hearts to put on the windows as well as make a rainbow and unicorn face all our of construction paper. We were both very pleased with the results. We had a little party later in the day. Grandma and Grandpa came over as well as Nona and Grumpy. We roasted hotdogs in our newly dug firepit and had some salads for dinner. After dinner Avery was excited to open her presents so we all gathered around and watched her do that. Kilian was super excited and we had to keep him from grabbing her presents and ripping into them. She had a good haul. Nona and Grumpy got her a cute vanity with some lotions, perfumes, and makeup. They also got her a new outfit and Nona made her some kitty masks to wear when we got shopping. It's mandatory right now to wear face masks in public. Her Grandma and Grandpa got her a super soft unicorn blanket with a huge jewelry making kit. We got her a new vet Barbie with some Barbie clothes and I was able to find some horses that a lady was selling online in great condition for cheap. Then the BIG gift (yeah we spoiled her a bit to much this year) a brand new big girl bike. She is SO excited. After presents we all sang Happy Birthday and had ice cream cake. We all visited for awhile before everyone started to head home. Avery spend the rest of the night riding her bike all over and we had to pretty much drag her inside when it was bed time. Overall I think she had a really great birthday.

Lost and then Found

We had a little scare for a couple days. June 16th our little kitten Jack got out of the house and we couldn't catch him. Next thing we knew, he was nowhere in sight. We left out food and water, we walked around the block looking for him. I thought that once he had explored a bit he would be back. Well the next day he wasn't back and Avery was so sad to have lost her little kitten. We again looked around the neighborhood and asked people if they had seen him. I called the animal shelter and posted on a few different Facebook group pages. I also started to panic a little and looked for a different kitty to replace Jack for Avery's sake. Well out neighbor across the street had seen a post on Facebook from the lady down the street from us that had found a kitten. She sent me the link and asked if it was Jack. Sure enough it was. So I contacted the lady who had found him and on June 18th our little Avery was reunited with her precious kitten. We were all VERY relieved. We are SO happy to have Jack home and are going to be extra vigilant to make sure we don't lose him again.

Beauty All Around

These are just a few pictures I have taken at work. I get to see this whole new beauty that I usually miss out on because I am sleeping. I am just always in awe at the beauty that surrounds us everyday and the blessings we are given.
