Easter Eve and Easter Day

Easter is one of Avery's favorite holidays and she looks forward to it pretty much all year long. So as it gets closer the anticipation for her builds and she starts asking (usually with Easter 2 weeks away) if we can dye eggs. Then finally the long awaited day comes. :p This year we did something a little different, but it was super fun. We did tie-dye glitter eggs. You put an egg into a bag and then add a couple drops of the color you want and then you move the egg around the bag to coat it in those colors. Then you add in a little glitter and walla glitter tie-dye egg. It was surprisingly a lot less mess than normal egg dying, I think we may have just discovered our new way of dyeing eggs every year. :)

After the eggs were all dyed and ready for the Easter bunny to come the kids were excited to go to bed. It still took awhile for them to actually go to bed and fall asleep, which is normal.
Easter morning the kids woke up and were excited to see if the bunny had come and hid all the eggs. Finding the eggs is Avery's favorite part of Easter and this year has been a little hard on her; because of Covid-19 all the usual egg hunts were canceled. We had a very nice Easter though, the kids loved their baskets and finding the eggs. Then they proceeded to eat a bunch of candy and got all hopped up on sugar.  We did have a nice Easter dinner too that was a lot of fun to make just to see how excited everyone got. Kilian was the worst though for sugar intake, he pretty much ate through his entire basket before dinner. Needless to say getting them to bed was a chore but when they finally did they crashed pretty hard.

Adventure is Out There

Yes quarantine is still going on and a thing. Schools are still closed and so we are doing all of Avery's school online through canvas. It has been hard on her which in turn has been hard on me. Today we started to go through the same fight and the same headache and I decided we needed a break and go explore for a bit. We loaded up into the car and headed towards Santa Clara, then Ivins and we just kept on driving. When we got into the small town of Gunlock I noticed a dirt road that in all the many drives we have taken through the "Gunlock Loop". So I decided it would be fun to see where it went. It was a dirt road but it was well graded and I figured that if it got back we could simply turn around and go back. It was an absolutely beautiful drive and even Avery (who hates rides normally) was really enjoying it. Then in the distance I saw a little lake and wondered if we could get to it. Sure enough I found the road to it so we headed to it. There was another family there but I figured we could easily keep our distance from them, stretch our legs and take a look around. It was absolutely beautiful little reservoir nestled in with beautiful trees and red rock. We had fun walking around the whole reservoir and  even followed the man made stream that fed into it. The kids also found a "hill" that they had a lot of fun climbing up. It was such a beautiful day and felt great to get outside and get back into nature. Oh how I have missed it, and we will definitely be back to bring James.

Boxes are Better than the Gifts Inside

I woke up and after a while I couldn't find Kilian. i found him outside playing with the box his slide came in. He was so excited to show me he was able to limb all the way thorough it. He called it his fort. He played with it most the morning and afternoon. Its amazing how kids can entertain themselves for hours with just a box.

Bubble Fun

Kilian got a new bubble machine for his birthday and both him and Avery were so excited to try it out. It took us a couple days because I forgot to buy batteries for it. But all is right with the world because it now has batteries and they had a chance to finally play with the bubbles. :)
