We've had a fun Fall so far even with school, jobs and other responsibility's we have tried to squeeze in as much fun family time as we can. We were able to obtain discounted tickets to Black Island Farms in Syracuse. We had a lot of fun at this place. They had a petting zoo, 3 different sized slides, a train ride, a couple different types of corn mazes including a haunted one, a hay ride that took you to the pumpkin patch top pick your own pumpkin out, farmers market and more. Avery had so much fun. and ran around like a crazy toddler. :p It was hard getting into the corn maze to get properly lost. As soon as Avery found a circle she just ran around it peeking around and growling at us or saying boo to scare us. When the sun was going down Maverick came out and started to set up their hot air balloon. Avery loved watching that. She also really loved watching the pig race. she was laughing so hard. At the beginning of the race the guy in charge said he needed 5 kids to "sponsor" a pig. He said that he would choose kids that could yell the loudest. Avery say the kids around her raising their hands as high as they could and yelling, so she started doing the same looking at the kids around her while doing it. It was cute.
Along with Black Island Farms we got to go enjoy a day at Lagoon. Avery actually got to ride rides this time. She was very brave to try any ride that was put before her. She liked most of them. The only one she didn't really enjoy was the family friendly roller coaster called Bombora. Her poor little face looked so scared, I felt so bad for taking her on it. She loved the train, the cars she got to drive and a few others; but her up most favorite still is the Carousel. She has been sick for awhile so I wonder if she wasn't able to fully enjoy Lagoon. She had a cold and while she was getting over that she got another cold. Due to these back to back sicknesses it wiped out all the good bacteria in her body. She had to be on the strict B.R.A.T. diet with a pro biotic to take as well. It wasn't fun for her watching her cousins munch on chips, sandwiches, soda and cookies while all she got was eggs, cheese, bananas and pedialite. However us sticking to that strict diet did the trick and she was getting back to normal a few days after Lagoon. Anyway she enjoyed playing with her cousins and riding the rides. Around 8PM she got to go spend the evening with her Nona and Grumpy. I got to take Nate, Gavin and Ethan on rides while James, Nikki, Abby and her friend went and enjoyed the haunted houses. Overall we had a really fun day and night; I will admit I was bummed that James and I didn't get to go on some of the "big kid" rides. But it was still very fun. :)
Since we didn't get to go very far in the Corn Maze at Black Island Farms we decided to give it another go. The nelsons corn maze here in Perry was a good opportunity. So we went to the dollar store, picked up some glow sticks and headed out to the corn maze. We all had a great time. Avery loved that Grumpy came with us and that everyone had glow sticks. We were actually able to get lost, run into spirals, dead ends and circles and we even made it through the whole maze this time around. A really fun night.
