End of the School Year Fun
Kilian had his end-of-year performance at school for his Spanish-speaking class. I know he doesn't look excited. But he really was. He kept asking me if I would be there, and I had to reassure him that I was planning on going. He did great!

Mesa Verde
Today we headed home, but first I wanted to stop by Mesa Verde. I have wanted to take James here for years, and now I get to take him and my kiddos. While everyone packed up and got some breakfast, Avery and I went back to the train station to check the lost and found to see if someone turned in her bracelet. Unfortunately, it wasn't there. We gave them our information in case they find it; they said they could mail it back to us. After a quick picture at the cute horse statue outside the station, we headed back to the hotel.
After the museum, we hiked down to the overlook to see Cliff House. I haven't been here in years, and it was still just as breathtaking as I remember. Unfortunately, we were not able to walk all the way down to the ruins like we used to. But it was still wonderful to finally share this experience with my family.

Durango to Silverton
This past weekend we had the chance to go on an adventure. My mom has been wanting us to go to Durango, Colorado, to ride the old steam train from there to the mining town of Silverton. I have been wanting to do that too since Kilian loves trains so much, but it's just been a bit too expensive for us. With some help from Mom, we were finally able to make the trip. On May 1st, we rented a van and started the 8-hour drive to Colorado. The great thing about this, too, is that Kilian had NO idea. Avery was even in on the surprise. We got to the hotel and told him we needed to get to sleep because we had an early morning activity we had to be at.
May 2nd- We got to the station and Kilian saw the trains and stated how cool it would be to be able to ride one. When we told him we were he was beside himself with excitement. We got our tickets and it was still almost an hour before our train was going to leave. So we went to the cute train museum that they had at the station. They had a lot of wonderful things to see. From old steam trains no longer functioning, to cars, motorcycles and boats some even from one of the world wars and much more. It was so fascinating to walk around all that history. There was a train with its passenger carts that the sign said was supposedly haunted. Unfortunately we didn't see or hear anything but it was still fun to go in and look around. Kilian especially loved the caboose.
After a while our train had pulled into the station and it was time to board.
