Easter Weekend

We hope everyone had a fun and great Easter Weekend. Last Easter was a lot of fun to experience with Avery, but this Easter seemed to be a lot more fun. Maybe this is just going to be the way things continue till they become teenagers. :p I have a calling in my ward as an Activity Days leader. What that means is that we help teach the girls about certain things like about budgets, scriptures, manners, music and how to lead music, etc, etc. Our activity before Easter we decided to talk to the girls about the Savior and his resurrection and color eggs. Avery thought this was great fun. She was very good at carefully setting the eggs in the dye. She didn't quite understand why I wouldn't let her break and peel the shell for her to eat the eggs though.
Saturday night before Easter we colored some more eggs with daddy. It had been a long day and Avery was already pretty tired, so she didn't stay up to color them all. But she still had a lot of fun and still couldn't figure out why she couldn't eat the eggs. Yes she loves eggs that much. :p
After Avery went down to bed, James and I finished the rest of the eggs and had quite a lot of fun with it too. After the eggs were done, I stayed up trying to get more baking and food ready for the next day so I would be so rushed.
Sunday for us was stake conference in our ward...so...no we didn't go to church. but we still had fun Avery got a visit from the Easter Bunny and yes she got spoiled, that kinds happens when she's the first child. Plus it helps when your local Dollar Tree actually has a good selection of items. :p
  James and my basket.
Avery was pretty excited when she discovered there was chocolate in her eggs. We actually had to hide the candy from her before she shoved anymore in her mouth. She didn't get into finding the eggs as much till James started looking, then she realized what was going on and ran around calling for eggs and getting very excited when she would find one.

My Mr. Humpty Dumpty eggs. :) Aren't they cute!
After Avery's egg hunt I had a egg hunt set  up with the resurrection story in it that we did as a family. Then Nona had something she wanted to show Avery. She had bought the kids a bunch of zhu zhu pets with a fun home for them.

The rest of the day was fairly quiet. We were just getting ready for the family to come over for Sunday dinner.  We had a very good dinner and then the kids went to the park while we hid the eggs for when they got back. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun.
Overall we had a really great Easter.
