Halloween Week and Weekend

We have been able to do a lot of fun stuff this week...and it's not even the week of Halloween yet. :)

So this may be a long post. Sorry that's kind of a late warning but there it is for ya. Oh but I will post fun pictures. :) So this past Wed our old ward in South Ogden had their trunk or treat. Now that we are back up north here I have been wanting to go and visit some old friends but haven't had the opportunity. So I found my chance at the trunk or treat they had. It was really good to see everyone we knew. I think I knew a few more people than James. But he taught Sunday school for the 12 and 13 year old kids so he didn't get to mingle as much. But he had some teens coming up and talking to him that took me awhile to recognize. We were late so we missed the trunk or treat but they had fun games that Avery got to play and win some fun toys. 

Like these fun bouncy balloons. Avery LOVED these she thought they were so fun when i would bounce them.

Next we had Friday night Halloween craft night with my friend Karen and her cute little girl. Avery had so much fun playing barbie dolls with her friend while Karen and I painted some cute decorations for her house. If you would like to see the craft we did please visit my Crafting Blog.

Saturday we had a busy day cleaning up for the house and getting the final touches on our costumes ready. Because Saturday night we had a fun Halloween party with my family. We headed down to Riverton to my sisters house and got to enjoy an evening of great food, games and company. It was good to see everyone. It has been a few months since I've seen everyone. I got a chance to love on my nieces cute babies...all 4 of them. :D

 After a fun night of partying on Saturday we woke up early Sunday morning to do it all over again with James' family. Hooray! So Sunday we finished cleaning the parts of the house we missed on Saturday and started cooking. We had a fun night with spooky good food and fun costumes. We also got to greet Mom and Dad A. from their month long trip to Washington and Oregon. Uncle Bob, and Avery's cousins Nate and Gavin went outside and raked up leaves and all the kids had fun jumping in them...including Avery. :)

 She was fearless she would just belly flop right into the leaves. :)

 This is my favorite. What a cute little lady, cute as a bug. :D

Halloween Costume Re-cap

 Tonight we have a trunk or treat to go to and since James and my costume isn't ready I have been looking through our former costumes and it just got me reminiscing. So here are our costumes by the year. Enjoy! :)

2006

We didnt have a digital camera this year. So our pictures are in a scrapbook. But James and I were newly wed and decided to do a family halloween party. It's stuck ever since.

Anyway James was Marc Anthony and I was Cleopatra.

2007

This year we REALLY decided to go all out. James and I were Link and Zelda from the video game Zelda. This costume was by far James best and most expensive costume. We made everything with the exception of the tiara, and swords. We painted the shiled and my dress front. This was a fun Halloween year.

2008

 

 I couldnt find the picture of us seperate, but we were a necromancer and an undead minion. (back left. In black and brown.)

2009

 This year was a very quick put together year. We had just got back from our 2 week family trip to cali and needed something fairly fast. James and I were gypsys. it was fun.

2010

This year was kinda fun it was a last minute costume. we were putting the finishing touches on just hours before the party.

2011

 This was a fun one to make we planned it out for a month or so. Suprisingly the hardest part of this costume to find was the overalls. :p

2012

Last years costume was all centered around Avery and her cute little chili pepper costume. I was a senorita and James was a senor. :)

I am excited to finish our costumes this year and post pictures of them.

Photography Skills

I have loved Photography ever since my first photography lesson in middle school. I continued to take them throughout high school. I was on the year book committee and I did photography for the school newspaper. After school I would take photos that I would call "Artsy" but I never had a very good camera to do anything more. Since I got this new camera, I have tried a few more things. Anyway the whole big long point of this is. Hey look at these pictures I took. :p

So the first set of pictures are the ones I took just with my camera and it's editing tools.

Tromping Through the Pumpkin Patch

We were able to check off a few things from our bucket list this past Saturday.  Doing the family pictures was so much fun. Thanks again to my wonderful SIL Nikki for doing them. After the pictures we came home to rest a bit and have dinner.  We had a plan to go to Fright Lights at Willard Bay. Willard Bay has a horse drawn hay ride, corn/straw maze laser tag and a pumpkin patch that kids under 12 can go pick out a free pumpkin. Then at night they have "spooky" lights that they turn on, like their Christmas lights except instead of Santa, elves and reindeer lights they have ghosts, pumpkins and witches. Plus concessions with hot apple cider and more. But I guess they aren't doing it this year because when we got there nothing was out or set up. No lights no nothing. American West heritage Center in Logan does something similar but we wanted to go to Willard to see the lights. Anyway we're going to look into it. Since there was nothing at the bay we just drove around the bay for a little bit watching the sunset. Then we decided to go to one of the fruit stand here to get some apples and pumpkins. Avery found this cute small knobbly little pumpkin that she just absolutely loved. she picked it out and picked it up herself. :) She carried it all the way to the check out lady and then to the car. (With a little help of course.)  Then she wouldn't let it go and cried when I took it away for a moment to get her in her car seat and buckled. On a side note she did eat a little of the stem...I don't think she liked it that much. :p When we got home James took the pumpkins to the front porch and Avery carried hers all the way from the car to the porch. No help that time, but I was close by just in case. :) We then put it by the pumpkin her Nona and Grumpy got for her too. Yup Avery has 2 pumpkins this year. Yes I know she's spoiled...but isn't that what you do with the first one. :p We had a lot of fun at the pumpkin patch.

Oh Yeah, Saturday morning we listened to Thriller and "taught" Avery the Thriller dance. She thought it was so fun. :)

 So just an update, Fright Lights is going on this year, we just went to the wrong marina. it's in the south marina by Smith and Edwards.
