Well This past week My friend Dawn invited me to go with her and our other friend Camille to Jackson Hole. With some money help from a little birdie. :) I was able to go. We had fun. We had breakfast at Village Inn Wed. morning and then we left for a 5 hour drive to Jackson. The weather was beautiful when we got there. Nice hoodie weather. We got checked into our cabin and then decided to go walk
town square. The town square was so cute there were a couple taverns and bars, a lot of shops and a few restaurants. We decided to do a little shopping. The first store we went into was called the Mangy Moose where I found the most redneck item I think I have ever seen. :) Multi-colored shotguns shells on a string of Christmas lights. Yup you heard right shotgun shell Christmas lights. Here's the picture to prove it...(Don't mind the way I look I had no make-up on and just got done driving 5 hours.)

After some window shopping we went to this pizza place for lunch/dinner. They had these great make your own calzones. They were very yummy. We decided it would be cheaper to do some grocery shopping instead of eating out all the time. So we went to the grocery store and got some food then headed back to our cabin for some laps in the pool and a relaxing sit in the hot tub. :)

The next morning we woke up to a overcast day. We thought we should be fine cause it wasn't suppose to rain or snow till Friday. So we got ready and headed to the Grand Teton National Park. The clouds were down so low that we couldn't even see the Tetons and it started to rain. On the way to the park though I did get the chance to see a moose. :)We drove through the park and then it started to snow. We wanted to go to Yellowstone and thought that we could since the snow wasn't sticking. Well half way to Yellowstone not only was the snow sticking but it was piling up pretty quickly. Dawn's car started to slide so we decided to go head back. I felt so bad for Dawn and Camille, Dawn really wanted to see the mountain range and Camille really wanted to go to Yellowstone. Well we didn't leave the park we drove by Jackson Lake, stopped at a cute souvenir shop and we also stopped at Jenny Lake. By this time it was still snowing but it wasn't sticking as bad you could barely see the lake, but what you could see you could tell the water in that lake is very clear. we could see the rocks at the bottom. I bet it's a really pretty lake when it isn't covered by clouds and snow. :) We also stopped at the visitor center. This visitor center was by far the neatest one I have been to. Not only did they have a lot of information but they had fun things as well. They had the different fur's from all the different wildlife that's in the park. They had statues of all sorts of different things helping to give a visual to the information that we being described and my favorite part. They had these cool screens on the floor. Like T.V.'s only you could walk on them. It was neat cause they had water under ice and when you walked on it you felt like you were walking on ice for some reason. It was kinda trippy. I stood back and watched other people's reaction to it as well and it was fun to see how lightly they stepped onto it, just as if they were walking on ice. Some wouldn't even realize they were walking on it then when they looked down and saw it they acted very startled and would shift try and walk more lightly. They would go back and forth from images of the water under the ice to a lake even to a herd of buffalo. It was so cool to watch. Well we decided it was time to head back and get some lunch. It was really snowing hard in Jackson. So we sat in our cabin and ate our lunch and waited for the snow to slow. I was going a little crazy I was trying to occupy my mind by playing cards. We brought a DVD player with us but when we got it all hooked up we realized that the TV didn't have a video option. So we couldn't watch all the DVDs we brought. Dawn said that she was still hungry and I agreed. After awhile she said that she was going to the gas station for a diet coke. I jumped at the opportunity to go with her and get out of that cabin. Camille wanted to stay. Dawn and I decided to go to the grocery store again to get some dinner and some more food. it was fun getting out and going to the store with her. I always have so much fun with Dawn. We decided to get steaks for dinner that night and some lunches for the next day. We went back to the cabin and started getting the briquettes ready to cook our steaks. It was so fun goofing around and playing with fire.

This is our cabin we stayed in...and that's Dawn getting the grill ready. :) We had a great view of a couple mountains outside our cabin. It was so fun. Even though they were covered with clouds most of the time.

As the steaks were almost done we noticed that everything started to clear up. Dawn got really excited cause we might be able to see the grand Tetons. We ate our steak in a hurry so we could go and see if we could see the mountains. The steak was really good and I took a little more time eating it. :p We drove out and on our way we drove by the elk preserve. I saw something really big in the fields. Dawn said it was probably a crow...since we were seeing quite a few of them. But then it stepped into the little sunlight that was shining on the field and I saw the white butts first and then the antlers. It was 2 or 3 elk. Yea!!! We saw some elk. I was so excited that we saw wildlife. The "it's probably a crow" saying became an instant joke too. :) Well We didn't want to drive all the way back to the park so we pulled off the road and snapped some pictures of the mountains.

Most of them were still covered in clouds though so we didn't get to see the whole mountain range. it was still very pretty though. I also decided to get some pictures of the leaves.

The sun started to set so we drove back into town and stopped by Dairy Queen for ice cream. Friday I can faintly remember hearing Dawn saying she was leaving to go for a ride. Well sure enough when I woke up she wasn't there. Camille said that she went to go look at the mountains cause there were no clouds. We waited for awhile. When she came back we all got in the car to try and go to Yellowstone again. We took the back way so we could stop by Teton Village. It was a cute little village...but it mostly reminded me of Park City. The ride was so pretty. The sun was shining the tree's were reds, oranges, yellows and greens. It was so pretty. Plus we finally got to see grand Tetons mountain range.

It was so pretty. Everything was clear, it wasn't raining it wasn't snowing. We decided since it was a beautiful day

we would take full advantage of it. The whole ride was pretty we drove through the Grand Teton National Park and into Yellowstone, and then it hit. The snow started to fly we thought we might still be able to make it to old faithful. The ride was still pretty...just in a wintry sort of way now. :) We came to this canyon on one side. It was really neat to see all the pine tree's covered in snow and then we saw this river at the bottom of the canyon and it looked black. It was really neat...unfortunately I couldn't get my camera out in time and the roads were starting to get slick..and they didn't have any turn outs. We finally found a place to turn around and headed back. When we got back to Jackson we went back to the cabin to have some lunch then we walked to town to do some more shopping. It was so much fun and the weather in Jackson was still very nice. We started to get a little hungry and before we came to Jackson we were told by some good friends to find Bubba's and eat there. so we got in the car and drove around trying to find it. But we couldn't find it and all the other places seemed kinda pricey. We were going back to the cabin when we noticed it was right across the street from us...whoops. So we parked the car and walked over. They had this really go

od BBQ there.mmmm. If anyone reading this goes to Jackson Hole go to Bubba's...SERIOUSLY! On the way back the sun had set and it had got really cold. Camille walked really fast to get home and I snapped a few pictures of the mountain once again. dawn was nice enough to wait for me. We stopped at the office of our campground and got some hot cocoa and cookies. it helped to warm us up. Camille didn't want to go back out and there was a show that she wanted to see. So Dawn and I got into our bathing suits and went swimming again. It was a lot of fun. We did water aerobics and talked the entire time then got in the hot tub. Sat. was overcast but still looked good so we wanted to get out of there quick in case it snowed. We had smooth sailing till we came close to Randolph then it was snowing REALLY bad. we had to go 30 mph. The roads were packed with snow. After Evanston the roads were good but it was still snowing till we got to Morgan then it was just overcast all the way into Ogden. I had a really fun time but I was also happy to be home.
