County Fair Time

With Avery in Lake Havasu with Caitlin and her family, I felt bad for Kilian. He's been missing Avery and doesn't have a lot of friends to play with right now. Then I remembered that this was the weekend for the county fair. After checking to make sure it wasn't going to be overly expensive, James and I made a plan. He would meet us there after work and I was going to surprise Kilian. When he saw the ride in the distance he said "mom can we got there sometime?" when I told him that's where we were going he got SO excited. I was on the phone with James and he said "daddy were going to a carnival I want you to come too can you?" Then became even more excited when James said he was already there waiting for us. We started off with the "boring" stuff first, well boring for Kilian. we went and looked at all the different vendors, animals and various crafts, baked goods, etc. Kilian really loved the tractors.

We got to see so many cute animals, Kilian absolutely refused to go on the pony rides. But seemed excited to see the chickens. The baby goat that was only 12 hours old!!! That was my favorite apart from the horses of course. James was in heaven with all the goats, especially all the kid goats around. He kept saying how much he missed our goats.

After the animals Kilian was ready for the rides. James needed to finish up some things with work and then he wanted to go home and rest his back. Kilian and I soldiered on and headed to the rides. He went on the giant potato sack slide and a crazy car ride before we stopped for some much needed lunch.

After lunch we ran into our friends Kai , and Cameron Whiting and their dad. Kilian wanted to go on a ride with them but the ride they chose he was still just a little to short for. After a quick goodbye he ran to look at more rides. He chose a car ride that goes up, down and around and a wavy jet ski ride. He also got a chance to play a couple games and won some prizes. Overall it was a very fun day and I now have a very tired boy on my hands. I am so glad we had the chance to spend this time together, I felt in my heart and soul that it was very much needed.

Trip with Friends

Avery was invited to go to lake Havasu with the Petty family for the weekend. I am really glad that she has found such a good friend in Caitlin. We have missed having her home but I do love the pictures Alana's  (Caitlin's mom) been sending me.

Easter

I hate to say it, but this was the only picture I got on Easter morning. I got home from work around 7:30 and the kids woke up not long after that. They got to find their baskets and the eggs the bunny had hid. It was a lot of fun, I was sad to leave such a fun scene. But truth be told I was falling asleep in the chair watching it all. I headed off to bed and James got the kids ready and took them to church. After I woke up I made a simple dinner and we watched The Testaments. Now when I say we I really just mean James and I. Kilian fell asleep early after a huge tantrum about eating all his dinner, and Avery got bored watching with us after dinner and went to her room to play on her tablet. I guess I should have been a little more firm with them about sitting as a family and watching this wonderful show about the Saviors birth, life and resurrection. But I feel like (especially with Avery) if we push to hard they are going to push back and then vow never to watch it since we were so pushy. I really want my kids to gain a testimony about the Savior and come to have their own personal relationship with him, but because our kids seem so headstrong and stubborn I feel like consistency and time are going to be our best friends. I seriously never imagined being a parents was going to be so hard.

Egg hunt and dying eggs

Today we headed to the 2nd annual easter egg hunt in Toquerville. Kilian had so much fun, and seemed to have a lot better luck this year. But it did seem like he was mostly going for the toys, he came home with 5 Styrofoam planes. After Avery got home from Caitlin's and before I had to go to work. We took time to dye some eggs. IN all truth the dye we used this year wasn't that great and either didn't seem to stick to the eggs or just wasn't a strong enough dye. Oh well, the kids had a lot of fun and that's all that mattered.

Swimming and a Messy Boy

Avery has a sleepover planned with Caitlin tonight, so after the kids came home from school she got her stuff ready and while we were getting in the car to head out. Mom and Dad stopped by to drop off a late birthday present to Kilian and some chocolate bunnies to the kiddo's. On our way to Caitlins both kids had ripped open their bunnies and started to eat them. After while Kilians started to melt in his hand and he said he didn't want it anymore. I didn't realize hoe badly melted it was till we got to Caitlins parents house and I was finally able to get a really good look at him. The poor guy was pretty much holding a melted mess. We were able to use The Petty's sink to wash him up before Kilian and I headed home. He was feeling a little left out that Avery got to go to a sleepover and he couldnt. So to try and help him out I decided to take him to the "pool with the fountains." Its just the pool by the clubhouse in our apartment complex. He had a great time and even after awhile some more people showed up to swim and he got to make a couple friends. In the end it all worked out and It was a bear to drag him away. :p

TFE Fun Run

Today was Three Falls Elementary yearly fun run to help raise money for the school. James said Avery didn't seem that interested but then mentioned that she asked him to come and watch her. He was unable to get away from work. At first I was just going to stay home and sleep (since I work nights now I do a lot of day time sleeping). But I felt I needed to be there, and I am really glad I went. Avery was so happy to see me, she stayed right by me hugging me till the run started. I helped out by standing by the starting line to add a mark to the lap sheet on the kids' backs as they passed. Avery didnt go to anyone but me and always greeted me with a smile. I think she really needed me there today for support and I am so happy that I followed my instincts or the prompting I received to go and be there for her.

Here she is with Caitlin and Bree after the run, enjoying some otter pops. I think the girl in Pink is named Violet.

Birthday boy

Well with the help of both Elders Quorums from our old ward and new one, Mom and Dad A and many MANY trips up and down the stairs. We are finally pretty much moved in. We have a few odds and ends that we need to pick up still at my parents house, but nothing to big. Jut in time too to decorate our new place for a birthday.

My little guy turned 6 today. While he was at school I've been trying to get things set up and prepared so we could have a little birthday celebration today.

It worked great. When he got home from school he was so excited to see the house all decorated just for him. We were going to go swimming but the weather has turned very cold and wet. But that's ok because he was only interested in presents and his cake. We had some pizza for dinner, then did a video call to Nona and Grumpy for presents and then it was time to sing and cake. I couldn't find the sparklers I wanted for  his cake so I just ended up lighting a house candle for him to blow out. He didn't seem to mind though. Overall I think he had a lot of fun and really loved his birthday.

Happy 6th Birthday little man!
