Family

We have been settling in nicely and James and I have been job hunting as well as house/apartment hunting.  Just a week after we arrived, Bob had a conference planned in St George and came to stay with us. While Bob was at his conference we took Lucas with us. We went to Thunder Junction which is an all abilities  dionsaur themed park that has a train that runs around it.

 We also went to the farmers market where Avery happily found a painted rock. She is so excited that people paint rocks here to so that we can continue to paint rocks and hide them. course we would have already. :p

 We have also enjoyed this rather large yard at the vacation home to just kick back, relax and have fun.

Back in St George

The rest of the ride was LONG and we were all very happy to be done with it. I will admit as we got closer to St George I started to panic a little. I was wondering if we had made the right choice and if we were suppose to be back in St George or not. But as we entered the valley and I saw the red rocks and then the temple came into view I had a rush of emotions and I felt like I was home. We headed straight to the vacation house and unpacked our suitcases. The kids were so happy to be out of the car...well we all were really. Our vacation house is really neat, its a 3 bedroom house with a huge backyard complete with playhouse, sandbox and trampoline. Avery was beside herself with excitement, not only did the house have these things but it also had a kids room with... TRIPLE BUNK BEDS. After a little dinner I realized I could surprise Sandi and Crystal by showing up to go walking with them. At first I wasn't going to but I thought it would be nice to have some "alone time". meaning time away from the kids, after spending close to 10 hours in a car with them I needed a break. I took the snow canyon parkway that passes right by pioneer park and the Dixie rock. This rock was always special to me. Whenever we would come home from Salt Lake or any kind of trip and we would pass by that rock. I always had a sense of peace and it felt like a road trip weight had been lifted. I would see that Dixie and know I was home. This time when I passed by pioneer park and saw that Dixie I burst into tears. I thought I would never see that in person again.

The Redwoods

We wanted to go this way because james had never been to the redwoods and I really wanted him and my kids to experience this amazing forest. So we left crescent city and headed to Redding. The kids were so excited when we pulled into the parking lot and they saw Paul Bunyan and his big blue ox babe.

These two photos are so funny to me. Because Avery said "I'm going to hit him" then went running  right under Babe and smacked the blue ox. I thought she'd smack his leg, but no she smacked the representation of his testicles. :p We were laughing so hard and she asked why we were laughing. I said "Avery you just went up and smack babes testicles." she looked at my confused and asked what that was. when I told her its his private parts she got all red and just said oh. :D we laughed so hard.

 Kilian was really nervous on the gondola lift up and back down. Him and Nona comforted each other on the way up. but on the way down, we got him smiling again.

 After the redwood forest at Redding's we were on on way to Carson City Nevada  a whopping 4 hour drive...in theory. By the time we got there we were all tired and hungry so we got a pizza and went to our hotel and called it a night. Tomorrow is the BIG drive. YuCK!
