September Update

I cant believe September went by so fast. I am both so very happy its Fall and October and not at the same time. I'm happy because fall is one of my all time favorite times, its the beginning of the holiday season and my house looks completely different till January and there is always a lot of fun things to do. I am not liking it for two reason, Christmas is coming and I have to figure out how to pay for it and it's still in the mid to high 90's down here. Oh well such is the life of living in a desert I guess. :) The end of Aug beginning of September we had a surprise call that out in laws were coming into town a lot earlier than we had anticipated and were going to stay just as long. We were planning on seeing them in mid September and having them for a good week or two. But with things moving so quickly with their house they needed to get thing moving a lot sooner than they had planned. So they drove up from Arizona and stayed the night, then took Avery out for the whole day with them, which made her so very excited and I think wore them out. :p Then her Grumpy (grandpa) helped her fix her bike before we all got ready for the day. We said goodbye to them as they headed up to Salt Lake to begin the relocation process. Avery had a bit of a hard time with them leaving but was very excited when I told her that we well see them again soon. For Labor day weekend (Sept 5-7) we were planning on heading up north to get our stuff out of our in laws storage shed and bring it all back down to our place. Then due to money we decided that it wasn't going to be a good idea. So Saturday morning I woke up and started looking online for fun and free things we could do over Labor Day. But again due to a series of events; we found ourselves on the road and heading up to Ogden around noon on Saturday. We stayed at James' brothers house in Salt Lake Saturday night. We went to the park and Avery played on the playground while Bob and James played catch or chased Avery and Ilia and I talked. It was nice and relaxing after the long drive. That night we just relaxed with them at  their home. We watched shows, had dinner and I tried to contain Avery. :p Sunday morning we got ready and headed up to Ogden. We met Mom and Dad A. at the UHaul place in Ogden to pick up a trailer to haul the rest of our stuff back to St George. Mom A took Avery over to my sister in laws house so she could play with her cousins. James and I followed Bob and Dad A up to the storage shed in Perry. They loaded stuff up in the truck for Bob and Dad to take back to Nikki's (my sister in law) house. While they were gone James and I started going through our stuff and getting rid of some of the stuff that we didn't need or had been ruined with all the moving. Then we loaded everything else up in the trailer and in our van. It was nice because we just took it easy and went at our own pace instead of a fast and furious one that we thought we would have to do. We were all done loading up and had to wait for Bob and Dad to come back to load up the grill they were bringing to us and see what they wanted to do with the DI stuff. After they came back and we were all done at the shed we headed over to Nikki's house to celebrate my nephew Gavin's birthday. Nikki was also finally able to get Avery her birthday present. :) She got her this cute purple cowboy hat. Avery looks SO cute in it. It was fun having dinner and celebrating Gavin's birthday with the family. Like the Sunday dinners we use to have before half of us moved away. We stayed at Nikki's that night and loaded up our clothes into the car. We headed back to the shed to help Mom and Dad load up their moving truck. But after we got there we found Dad on the phone with UHaul because his truck was having problems. After about an hour of sitting around talking and listening to Dad get more and more irate they said we could go ahead and get on the road. So we said our goodbyes, gassed up and headed back to St George with our load in tow. We were able to get home and get it all unloaded before it got dark which was super nice. That way before I went to work in the morning I could take the trailer back. It was a fast trip but it was also nice to get the rest of our stuff and very nice to see the family. We didn't have much time to rest though. We had about a day and a half to try and get the house somewhat clean before my parents came for a visit.
They drove down on Sept 9 and got to our house about dinner time. Avery was very excited to see them. The next morning Mom asked if we wanted to go to breakfast with them. I didn't have to be to work till 11:30 so I was pretty excited. Avery was too when I woke her up and asked her if she wanted to go. I have never seen that little girl get out of bed that fast. :p They took us to Ihop which is kinda an inside joke with my parents and James and I. After breakfast we took Avery to school and she got to show Grandma her classroom and her cubby and some of her art work. :) She was very excited to show her grandma her class and meet her teachers. I dropped mom and dad back at our house and went to work. That night mom and dad treated us to a show at the Tuacahn, we had never been before so we were excited. I was hoping that Avery was going to be on her best behavior. We went and saw When you Wish; Its the only show there that lets 3 year old's come to the show. After we got to our seats, Avery was kinda climbing all over and James and I were getting nervous. But as soon as the show started she was in awe. I wish I had thought to take a picture of her face. She was wide eyed and on the edge of  her seat. At times it was funner to watch her then the show. :) She loved it...well we all loved it. :) Avery loved the under the sea song with the water and the bubbles and was so excited to see Ariel. During intermission she made friends with the little boy sitting behind us. Again we got nervous because she was also getting tired and trying to curl up on every one's lap. :p But as soon as the show started again, it had her full attention. At the end of the show as we were leaving I kept hearing a little girl saying bye to Ariel, then I realized it was Avery. :) She was up ahead of me with grandma and grandpa and was calling back saying bye to Ariel and "it was nice to meet you" It was so cute. Everyone around us was smiling at her and making comments to us about how cute she is. On the way out Avery and I snapped a quick picture with her as Ariel and myself as Mulan. :) It was such a beautiful night and we had so much fun. Friday after we got home Dad wanted to go see Leeds. So Avery and I took them up to Leeds to show them around. We saw some wild turkeys that my dad proceeded to gobble at. :p Then we went home for some dinner and to spend the rest of the night relaxing. Saturday Dad had this idea that he pitched to us. Him and mom wanted to go exploring a little and look at houses. So they took us out to breakfast at Black Bear diner (which wasn't as good as it boasts...for the exception of the rolls) then we started at the south end of St George and worked our way North. We introduced mom and dad to Swig before heading out of St George to the North. We showed them this cute little house on 5 acres that we were really interested in. We ended on a high note and took them up to this charming little town called Pine Valley. James and I really love Pine Valley and so far we haven't really heard any objections from anyone either local or not. After 6 hours in the car we headed back to our house where almost everyone took a little nap before dinner. My dad wanted seafood, so we headed out to Red Lobster. By this time Avery had had it and was completely exhausted. James had finished his dinner and after awhile he decided to just take Avery outside and let her run around and then they were going to go sit in the car. Everyone slept good that night. :) Sunday we had a regional broadcast so we didn't have our normal church. James went to the broadcast and I let Avery sleep. I was online when I heard about the Valley Fire in Middletown California. I have family that lives there, so I tried calling them and I couldn't get through to anyone. I asked mom if she had heard anything about it. She hadn't and called my aunt whose number I didn't have at the time. It was then we found out that my cousin had lost her house in the fire. My aunt and her husband was able to save their house and barn but the rest was gone. We found out as much as we could, then decided to head out to visit my Uncle and his wife and my aunt and her husband to see if they had heard. We found out from them that another of my cousins and her kids lost their homes. So we had 4 family members total that had lost their homes and everything. Everyone was safe thank goodness, just stressed and upset. We felt so helpless. :( We visited with my Uncle Glenn and Aunt Norma, Then went to my Aunt Norma's and uncle Kent's house to visit with them. It was a very solemn visit because all of our minds were on the situation with our family in California. We headed home to make dinner and spent the night relaxing. Mom and I watched a show after Avery and the boys went to bed. Monday mom and dad left so early that I barely woke up when mom poked her head into my room to say goodbye. Avery wasn't happy that grandma and grandpa were gone,  It really hit after we got home and they were still gone. She asked if they were coming back. :) Our whirl wind of visits and visiting seemed to agree with her, while it left James and I exhausted. Happy, But exhausted. Here are some pictures:

August Update Part 2

Adventures with Avery are always...well adventures. :)

Avery accidentally locked herself in he closet outside our door. We heard her calling for help and James went to go check it out. At first he was confused because he went into her room and couldn't find her. When he figured out where she was he called to me to come see. The video explains the rest. :p We have been working very hard with Avery to go potty in the toilet, for a lot of reasons. :) One of them is that she was stuck in the 2 year old class (bumblebees) at her daycare until she learned to go potty all by herself. A couple weeks after I started work I was talking to one of the daycare leaders and we deicded to give her a day or two in the 3 year old class (dragonfly class) to see how she would do. She did really well and loved the 3 year old class. So she was moved over to that class and has enjoyed being there and learning new thing.

But leave it up to my little one to get into mischief as well. One morning I was getting ready for work and Avery came in and said that she was out of snowballs. Of course I instantly wanted to know where she was getting the "snowballs." I followed her into her room and was greated with an interesting sight. First I saw the "snowballs" all over the walls and then I saw it on her books, floor, stuffed dog and vanity mirror. Then I found the box that use to have the cubes of margarine in it. Near as I can tell she used up about 2-4 Cups of margarine to make her "snowballs" Oh I while I was cleaning it up I picked up one of her bigger books and found the whole back side covered with margarine. I guess she was using the book to squish the margarine.

When I got to work that day I told them I was So happy to be there and then told them the story and showed the pictures. Of course all my co-workers thought it was a riot; and I will admit that after the clean up and everything was said and done. I think its funny too, and a good story as well.
Another wonderful Avery adventure happened on Aug 15th. We were done with dinner and just resting when Avery came up to me and asked if I could get something out of her nose. I looked and saw something green up her nose.  As soon as I saw it I knew Exactly what it was.

Ever remember playing with these foam letters. Well the inside of the R was now shoved up my daughters nose. After James and I did all we could to persuade her to let us get it out, she just wasn't having it. So off to the Insta-care we go. :( Luckily it wasn't as crowded as the first time she got something stuck up her nose so the wait in the waiting room wasn't nearly as bad. Avery was all happy and chatty with the nurse and let her take her blood pressure and hopped up in the scale no problem and even all the way down the hall she was just talking, well like Avery does. Then we go into the room, I see the doctor and recognize him as the doctor who tried to take the cereal out of her nose last time. Apparently Avery recognized him too, because she immediately started to cry. The nurse tried to calm her down with a Minnie mouse toy but she wasn't having it. Then when he tried to look up her nose and well to get right to the chase we had to swaddle her in a sheet and then James had to hold her legs while the nurse held her arms and I got to hold her head. As soon as the doctor inserted the weird looking tool to get the foam out of her nose she did finally hold still and he was able to get it out. HOORAY! no trip to the ER. :) All of us were pretty worked up so we took a drive and ended up at the Snow canyon over look. I don't think James wanted to get out or anything but I really needed to clear my head. So I headed out to the cliff and sat and just watched the sun set over the red rock. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Eventually Avery and James joined me and we watched the rest of the sunset together. It was so peaceful, I really love Snow Canyon.
